Zinedine Zidane has refused to completely rule out a return to Real Madrid for Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Spanish giants reappointed Zidane as head coach on Monday until June 2022 after bringing Santiago Solari’s time at the helm to an end.

Frenchman Zidane stepped down at the end of last season after guiding Real to three consecutive Champions League titles and was replaced by Julen Lopetegui.

It’s a tricky one for City on the historical abuse, now CRB checks and internal procedure should be in place to protect/safeguard young people from abuse. Payouts help, but putting money into a trust/fund to help with support moving forward would also be something the FA should look at, it’s the long term psychological damage that’s difficult to help.

Also the new bullying that appears, Beardsley ending his association with Newcastle. Back in my day this was character building, now it’s bullying/industrial bullying. Kids coming into Engineering are protected and are not raised the good old fashioned way we were as apprentices/trainees. But there is a fine line, rant over.

CRB checks no longer exist, it's DBS now. And they don't prevent anything, they just prove somebody as never been charged for certain activities before.

Internal policies and procedures are (or should be) there to prevent anything from happening.

Shows how long ago I was with a teacher, it was a CRB back then, even internal policies and procedures can’t protect everyone. But it should stop 99.9% of issues.

After saying he won't make mistakes "like Alisson", Pickford has now made more mistakes than any other goalkeeper in the PL

They looked skewed, only four leading to goals. Funny the BBC don’t put that level with Becker, it’s now goals and shots:bandit:

Still happy to have him, just a bad season making four errors leading to goals. Others are having a great season and have done as badly.

Only changed a few years ago mate

I haven’t been with that fruitcake for about 15 years.

Still, they were possibly in place with some of the historical abuse cases. I’m not passing blame, but City can’t know they set a monster on to train and coach the lads.

It was a silly comment though, to be honest...
Depends what you appreciate. I place huge importance on overall team impact/performance, not just who grabs the goals. Same reason I'm not a big Harry Kane fan, does very little apart from stand up top and knock the ball in. Their fullbacks were immense all game, stretched the game, broke the defensive line and created chances.

Have you seen his record in the ko rounds?

He has a huge impact on teams and can also carry one, there's no doubt he's the ultimate big game player.

Comparing him to Kane ffs <rofl>

Ronaldo has been doing that more consistently and better than anyone for the last decade though. Look how far ahead he is of all other players in CL knockout goals scored. It's not a coincidence that his statistics are so impressive. The thing is its not just as if he turned up, had 3 chances which equalled. He's relentless in the way he's always looking for space, he's always on the move and ready to take advantage of any lapse in concentration or mismatch at the back.

I dislike him as much as anyone, but if you can't appreciate his performance tonight then I don't think you are watching the right sport.

EDIT: Yeah, pretty much what Libby said.
