At least he genuinely wants to sell it, unlike someone we could mention who has supposedly <whistle> been trying to sell something for nearly 21 months now, and offered it to fans for £1 the other day - making it worth less than one copy of VOTV.

So the latest takeover “fact” seems to be that Duchatelet has rejected a £35m bid for the club because he wants “£30m in cash”.

This flatly contradicts what he said in his re ent Talk ****e interview with Patsy White, when he said he would give the club away for “free” (although admittedly he wanted paying for the Valley and “the land”).

So someone is lying and misleading the loyal long term Charlton fans again. Now that Oyston has been expelled at Blackpool, we are without a doubt the No.1 basket club.

At the very least, the EFL should be back in contact with Duchatelet to make clear that this constant muddying of the waters and feeding disinformation is unacceptable. No doubt Duchatelet will lie again or ignore them, but at least Charlton fans might feel that football’s governing body actually cares about the future of Charlton.

I go back to Simon Jordan repeatedly trying to pin Duchatelet down on what the asking price is, and his snide response “it doesn’t matter”. After 5 years of which 2 years have been spent on this sale farce, this has got to stop.

Duchatelet clearly hates visits to Belgium but he can have no complaints given the way he trolls us.

Further to AllHells comments to why I don't think that RD wants to sell the Valley and the Training ground to Property developers is as follows.
The independent valuation of the land given Is £20m for The Valley and £3m for Sparrows Lane, reflecting their planning status.
There is a lot more in the VOTV.

THat's interesting, but you have to factor in Roland's distant relationship with reality. He only listens to yes-men and sycophants, and so he may not be aware of this.

If he doesn’t want to sell the Valley & Sparrows Lane to property developers, where is he getting his £35m plus valuation from? It can’t be the player assets - thanks to his mismanagement, we don’t have any left.

The Belgian was willing to give the Club away to supporters for £1, if the combined value of the Valley & Sparrows Lane is £23m then the actual value of CAFC is £23,000,001 so why has he turned down an offer of £30m from a former City Banker?

On another note, isn't @DickPlumb a former City Banker? Coincidence?

Thanks to all the lies and half-truths emanating from Roland and his stooges no-one really knows what he wants. He just can't be pinned down. Does he really want to sell? Did he really give £70m as a price (yes, probably)? Was he serious? Was his letter to the EFL serious? Why does El Turkey talk about 5 interested parties, is it his own lie or his Master's? Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive (anon).

To put more flesh on the bones.

The figures of 20 M and 3m are based on what they would be worth if sold for redevelopment. A necessary accounting approach because there is no market for them ever to be sold on to another Football Club. The sums are heavily limited by the formidable planning, practical and other obstacles to such schemes. Sparrows Lane is protected in Greenwich's local plan as metropolitan open land, while the Valley is designated as Community open space. Both sites have major access issues.

The Aussie beer meeting source claimed that RD wanted a cash deal, not installments. Rings true given what an arsehole he is.
