Have a go at the Trifecta on the St Leger

In its simplest form you pick 3 horses (A, B and C) to finish 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the correct order. The Trifecta Box pays out if A, B and C finish 1st, 2nd and 3rd in ANY order (this is basically 6 Trifecta bets).

I'm new to this WF but I think that is 2 bets
    Blue Bunting to win (banker)
Sea Moon and Masked Marvel to finish 2nd and 3rd in any order.

Unless you just want a straight Trifecta
    ie
    1)Blue Bunting
    2)Sea Moon
    3)Masked Marvel

    in the correct order 1,2,3.

I'm probably being a bit thick here and missing the point completely but ....... as this is virtual betting and there doesn't seem to be any rules - can I nominate ALL the runners for £10 bets x however many bets that comes to?

    I thought not :)

I'd do the same as you but drop Masked Marvel for Brown Panther.

    LOST

Away from competitions, I think Sea Moon is nailed on, and now he has eased to 2-1 should be on everyone's betting slip, but at the 14-1 currently available with Stan James I think that Brown Panther ew is excellent value.

    Good luck all <ok>

I just have a feeling we will see a suprise, ive said from the beginning sea moon will win, but something changed my mind today so I have gone for Blue Bunting, its the only one the bookies arnt taking on! No-one really gave her much of a chance in the oaks so I think she may spring a suprse tomorrow and the weigtht will go in his favour!

Yes you can. I believe that would be 504 bets for all 9 runners covered to finish 1,2,3 in any order. The RP will show the return.

Tricast was £153.51 for £1 so wouldn't have been a good idea

Ron some info,Toteboard watching is very important when placing these type of bets. The size of the bet pools is important, not worth putting large expensive tri wagers, when the pool is small because the payouts will be small eg a $24 tri wager to win $45 On the other hand when there is over million in the pool for a race eg breeders cup then its worth to up the anti.Another thing to consider is that you have syndicates that will bet huge amounts on exactors and tri's in the big races.
Exactors are the more used bet and payouts are sometimes just a little smaller than the tri's, Its easier to pick the first two horses than the first three. For any of these bets to be fruitful you need the fav not to win and and preferbly not second.
Another way that alot of people do and myself is choose three numbers eg 3,6,5 and stick to them all the time for fun bets, its surprising how often they can come in,and sometimes at big prices which are an added bonus.

Cheers Islander. The Tote do these bets on some races but it's not that well known over here, probably because it isn't advertised. I'm assuming they will do it on the St Leger and some bookies take the bets also. Just a bit of fun really and it might raise a bit of awareness.

I wish they had ew bets over here. Its all paramutual. so its not just trying to pick winners but trying to out punt the other punters, if you get my reasoning

Can you not do them over the internet with bookies or on the exchanges?

    Here goes nothing. 60 pounds.

    1,3,5,7,8 with 6 win. LOST

    1,3,5,7,8 with 6 second. LOST

    1,3,5,7,8. with 6 third. WON

1 pound. If that makes sense.

Keying one horse with 5 others is 20 bets
    Tricast was £153.31

    PROFIT: £93.31

To be perfectrly honest Islander, I've really come to like the way things are done in North America. Win, place, show is amazing.

Ron, here in Oz, all races have Quinella (1-2) in any order, Forcasts (1-2 in right order) and trifectas. Some have a Quadi (first 4)

cyc we have Quinellas, but mostly in the harness racing, normally payouts are small.your Quadi is the same as our superfactors.huge payouts for small stakes, but trying to pick 4 horses in the correct order,is almost impossible
