Tell me about it.

City 0 - 2 Bradford; 2003 first home game of our Division 1 season. I had been to the first game following Sam Hammam's takeover but the only thing I can remember was that it was raining and City conceded late. Anyone else there? Think it was Northampton?

Anyway the team that day in 2003 - some real hero's. Mark Bonner! <laugh>
Remember that game; we were the better team but got undone by 2 decent strikes out of the blue. Alan Lee’s debut having been on the opposition the previous game for Rotherham.
City performed well in their next few games quite comfortably in the top half including 4 for Earnie v Gillingham.

Can't remember much about my first game only that Peter King scored 2, I think against Swindon.

It would have been 1969.

My parents couldn't afford for me to go earlier. When I was 15 I had a part time job in the local club, sorting the empties and restocking the bars, some of those crates were heavy to carry up 2 flights of stairs. I was paid 10/= per week (50p in todays money) just enough to go top see the mighty Bluebirds.

By the next season I was in full time employment and in the next 10 years I missed only about 3 or 4 games home or away.

I then started working continental shifts and only had a few Saturdays off, my visits to Ninian Park were very few.

12 years ago I suffered 2 strokes and it was touch and go for I while, once I improved fully I decided to reaffirm my love of the Bluebirds and bought my 1st season ticked I'm on ST number 9 this year.

Do you think following the bluebirds is good for health DJ. Might be better for you if you didn't.<laugh>

Glad you've recovered and are up for it.<cheers>

Cheers mate, when you get a scare like that you tend to live life to the full, and that must include the Bluebirds. <cheers>

Cardiff vs Scunthorpe 15th April 1997

I was 8 years old.

Drab 0-0 draw.. Can't remember the starting 11, but Jason Perry was playing.

Not 100% sure, but my first game was against the hammers in the late 70s. Not the most memorable of games.
Mine was West Ham too but it was probably early 70's and I was a 10ish year old Irons fan (that game turned my head with the full house and passion in the ground)
West Ham scored 2 late goals to win 1-2 but we were in the car heading back to Turktown by then.... as my dad couldn't cope with the amount of violence occurring in the main stand right in front of us. I almost had to use my claret and blue rattle to defend myself
