I think they have hit on a good match for them. All the so called biggies have been disastrous for them. Even a Pochettino could implode in the cauldron once he is faced with the expectations. They’ll be really silly not to appoint him.

Solskjaer as a permanent manager is a joke, I hope it happens. So far his main qualification is not being Mourinho. Literally 7.5 billion of us can do that. I think it's a fantasy to believe Man Utd's mercenaries give a crap about what he did back in the day.

It's one thing getting one of the most expensive squads in history to stop downing tools by being a new face, it's another to build your own team to challenge for the PL. Solskjaer has no chance.

I think Pochettino would be a disaster for them too though. [HASHTAG]#winwin[/HASHTAG]

Rivalry and tribalism apart, the mancs under him have won more points over a dozen or so games than City (5 points) and LFC (7 points). Sure to better the two best managers and teams in the league is something that 7.5 billion people can do.

For me I pray that they don’t appoint him. That would be a nightmare for us. IMO he has turned out to be the man that fits them like a glove after years of trying. I hope that their executive management are blinkered enough to look at reputations instead of what they’ve got already.

I'm unsure as to how he'll do long term, he's been brilliant for them so far, the test will be next season.

My thoughts are that VAR is still ****e, the ref should be making the decisions real time. I watched the slo mo vid of the incident and am unsure as to whether he keeps his arm in that position intentionally, the shot is fairly close to the player who turns his back and cannot see the ball so is there intent? I can't make up my mind so watch it real time and then it doesn't look like a pen.
I can't stand PSG and have no love for Utd but if I try to be unbiased I'd go no pen.

working so missed it.

sounds like a dubious pen decision to me from comments. if that is seen as a pen now days then fair enough, but you have to give them all, but will it be a familiar pattern or depend on who is playing as to whether it's a pen or not :bandit:

basically big if... if Liverpool somehow manage to get past Bayern then there will be 4 English team in last 8 which has not happened in a long time.

then there's atletico and Barca plus ajax and Porto.

PSG thought that they could turn up and the rest would be a formality. They moved the ball way too slowly and offered little threat against a weakened Utd team, despite 70% procession. Utd got lucky but took their chances. Fair play - they are the Burnley of the CL and it has delivered results. PSG deserves everything they got.

Have to say though, that any other club that gets to the last 8 will want to draw them. Eventually conceding possession like that will come back and hurt you.

Really hope we get through (a score draw will do but we are the underdogs too) - 4 teams in the last 8 would be good for English football....and id love to draw them in the next round.

hopefully cl might be a big distraction for city spurs and utd.

obviously i would like us to progress, but if we can concentrate on title, as i think city really want that first cl title, and spurs and utd might start thinking just maybe we have a chance here.

Rio summed it up well. As a defender, you simply can't jump with you hands behind your back; the only way you can avoid handball with the diabolical ruling.

I think people are missing where the real difference is
Ole has to take the credit but bringing back Phelan is a masterstroke, to me that is where moyes went wrong.
Utd squad is better than ours imho and have said that all the way through, it just needed organising.
Utd are athreat to CL, eveyone is that is left in.
I am hoping that we go through, would be happy with a score draw but just cant believe all three german sides will go out so i am expecting the worst.
We are in for a lot of negative media attention and wummery,
Hope i am wrong but thats the way it currently looks

To give Ole his due, if it were us playing our second string or youngsters we are inevitably dumped and get our backsides whipped. When Klopp played them in the League and FA cups he got his bottom smacked. We constantly have to play our best players otherwise we are in trouble :(

Not doubting they did well. Just whole huge think about missing 10 players... you’d only really saw McTomminy and Perriera are youngesters in that team. Whole defence are experienced internationals, Fred is a 50m signing Brazilian international and Lukaku is a 75m striker who has scored more prem goals at his age than anyone else.

Leta not kid ourselves that united were playing their under 18s or reserves here.

They did well no doubt although psg gifted then the first 2 and then it was a dodgy penalty decision that got them the win.

Do you mean you can only jump like that?

Thank the mancs for making it easier for us. ;)

Amazing though the transformation ole has produced. He has beaten a PSG side with a second string side, 10 of their first teamers missing. A night they’ll probably be talking about for a very long time.

They were all pulling the heads of each other on BBC Salford Breakfast this morning. You'd think they'd won the ****er <grr>

Tottenham through to the Quarter Final
Manchester United through to the Quarter Final
Manchester city most likely to make the Quarter Final
Liverpool job to make it to the Quarter Final is massive???
I believe English club is to win the Champion League this year.

city v barca/ajax final for me.

unless they get drawn against each other beforehand.

No it isn't. Their squad is completely unbalanced in having zero defensive quality. That's why Mourinho opted to defend with the entire team behind the ball and Solskjaer goes all out attack instead (except for losing his nerve and doing a Mourinho against us).

Neither option is capable of sustaining a title challenge, whereas even with plenty of injuries our squad has been comfortably in a title race all season.
