Some of the figures and contract lengths mentioned in this article are incredible. A £30 million gap to make up the summer! I suppose its worth remembering that we endured a similar process with Slade and the cost cutting that followed our relegation but I'm not sure we even this ****ed? <yikes>

The numbers / ratios were quoted to swans fans a number of times. The %age of revenue spent on wages, the %age of revenue that was tv money. It was always an inverted pyramid in terms of stability. I think Jenkins knew that and for him, bailed just in time.
I've been on their board a few times and can sympathise with their fans.
Unfortunately, poor management in the last two years has put them in a difficult position.
Many of their fans recognise the hole they are in.
Some naively think the parachute payments should be spent on a promotion charge not realising the parachute payments are what is making the situation better than It would otherwise be.
Yet others think there is money being siphoned out to the states, either to dc United or to the yanks pockets.
I genuinely feel for the majority of the fans, though some are deluding themselves while others, after rubbing our noses in it with a holier than though attitude are conspicuous by their absence now it is they in the financial hole, not us.
I hope the club can be stabilised before it falls any further, we've seen newport claw their way back and Wrexham could get back into the national leagues.
We could do without another Welsh club falling on hard times.

Scary looking st some of the salaries they are still having to pay and the fact there is a year or two to run on some of them.

I wonder what will happen to stoke in the closed season given they tried to spend their way back to the prem and have failed abismally.
Hope udders have relegation clauses with some of their players as well.

Some of the Swans fans think the yanks are asset stripping the deluded fools........The yanks said after relegation that they were going to take over the running of the club for a few seasons to put right what pearlman and jenkins have made a mess of.......This is why Jenkins have retired......To Me it was stupid paying 83% on wages as that put us in debt and the yanks were spot on getting rid of most of the high earners and bringing in a new manager with some credit to his name.....Some deluded fans said we will get relegated again before the season started,,,How wrong were they with us comfortable in mid to top half and reaching the QF of the FA Cup..... Some of the fans dont have a clue what hard times are like that Swans and Cardiff have been through and they dont understand how lucky we are to have the experience of these Americans to put the club on a stable footing again and that will take a few seasons yet and potters job is to keep us in the championship during that time.....We cant afford to get promotion to the premiership for a few seasons yet.......We must go back to living within our means and the yanks are working hard doing just that......

I watched WBA v Sheff Utd tonight.

WBA were pretty dire. Sheff U defended superbly.

Top 6 looking well set but cannot predict the top 2.

This thread is becoming more relevant as we’re likely to be playing most of these next season plus Luton, Barnsley and possibly Pompey or Sunderland.

I see Derby are doing their usual end of season collapse but sadly Leeds aren’t.

Got to say Leeds were brilliant last night - they absolutely roasted WBA.

That was as good and skilfull a Championship demolition job as I've seen recently. They would have played us off the park if we were up there last night.

Once a Bluebird etc....

Noonie did the Ayatollah whilst trudging off at the Library after seeing red for an apparently legitimate tackle - according to his manager.

You can take the boy out of Cardiff but you can't take Cardiff etc...

Always liked Noonie.
