Number 1 is done like that as it’s eaiser to package in the standard sandwich box

I'm not sure what sandwich box you're referring to. You mean like the premades some stores sell...

I think it's likely the other way around. The boxes are made to show off the sandwich cut like that.

From a visual appearance #1 looks more appealing because it has a longer cut line so you see the filling more and it looks more filled. It's no surprise stores sell it cut that way because they're trying to win your eyes.

From a practical standpoint cutting into rectangular halves might be better because less surface area for contents to fall out of the sandwich .

It comes down to what you're trying to do.

If you're trying to sell a sandwich or look fancy/appealing, a diagonal cut is probably better.

If you just want to eat a sandwich and insist on it being cut (but really why bother), straight across the middle into rectangles is probably more logical.

Sandwiches should be cut, as the smaller size in the hand helps prevent the filling falling out from floppage. A toasted sandwich has no such requirement, being firmer. A triangular cut would appear to have less grip area where it matters.

Also, I cut sandwiches so one half can sit atop the other on a plate, thus leaving half the plate free for crisps. Who eats sandwiches without crisps? Freaks, that's who.

I just shove it all in my gob mate...

The Liverpool Echo, owned by the daily mirror and printed in greater manchester love to cause **** by printing misleading articles and headlines.
The latest is a stabbing that occured while the Liverpool v Watford game was being played, the stabbing took place a mile away from the ground and had no connection to the clubs or their supporters, yet the manc hack managed to drag LFC into the crime.

"Man stabbed close to Anfield during Liverpool's win against Watford"

Man City have just signed a kit deal with Puma for £650m over 10 years. 2nd biggest in Prem history. Money goes to money!

Inclides all their teams though so the women’s team plus the Australian and American team. Vast majority is going to city but some of that will go to the others as well
