Is it? Pochettino said there won’t be extra money raining from the sky. How are you going to be any different to Arsenal who had 10 years of austerity after building theirs and they are a bigger, richer club than Spurs?

That’s the answer. They run Spurs as a business, not a freak show like the Arabs do with City.

Spurs won’t be muscling in on the same players the likes of United, Chelsea and City can afford. I think they’ll need to push some assets out of the door ala Henry and Fabregas with Arsenal and see if they can hold on to their crown jewel.

It won’t surprise me if Son is the sacrificial lamb, should a big club come in.

Hope not....Eriksen is on his way but we wont get much for him with him going into his last year.

If we do sell Son then hopefully a few more of the Spurs fans might see the light when it comes to ENIC...you dont build good teams by selling your top performers...simple really

Press reports this morning suggest Brendan Rodgers has been promised a £200 million transfer war chest for the summer window ... if true, it puts your lack of funding Poch into stark perspective, given the relative size of the two clubs <ok>

    This bru <ok>

You ain't getting a rich investor coming in with an £800m stadium debt as Tel has pointed out Spurs are a £2bn project for anybody taking them on and I don't see anybody throwing that sort of money at you. As you point out ENIC are investment company, they want to see a return on their investments, Spurs being one of many that they hold and they haven't and aren't going to splash mega bucks on your squad either.

What I think will happen at Spurs is that you will have a decade like Arsenal, trying to balance the books whilst servicing the debt and cashing in on your best assets whilst hoping to develop youth and pick up bargains to develop. Problem is that Poch is ambitious and wants success now, and he's hinted that he'll walk several times now if he's not backed to see this project through. Add to that, as you've mentioned that players like Erikson, Kane, Alli, Dier, Son etc won't want to wait 10 years to see a project possibly come to fruition and could either walk or be sold to service the debt.

The other problem you have is trying to stay in the top 4 and keep the CL money coming in, whilst both Utd and Arsenal improve and look to regain their places back in the top 4. People slate Wenger for Top 4 and CL without winning either that or the league, but what he did during those years was keep Arsenal in a sound financial position and stopped us from falling behind whilst the money bags clubs threw ££££ at their clubs.

He will probably just buy the Saints squad if his previous transfer policy is anything to go by.

With the left over £190m he will no doubt buy a load of ****

Puts a lot of pressure on him surely £200M means that the club will expect 4th at least?

Suspect they have said they want a crack at it .... the fans would be happy enough with a Europa spot challenge and a real go at the cups ...

Theres money mate...i dont know where its going considering official representatives of the club were sayin that the Stadium build wont affect transfer kitty(of course it will if it didnt then Levy has had a brain transplant- he hasnt). Then you get some folk saying...we have money but Poch is being fussy. Personally i think he is following ENICs narrative and what he really feels shines through his very frustrated demeanour of late. I think Levy has neglected his duties as a chairman of a football club which was one good transfer window spend from moving up a notch...a bit like Pool. Hats off to him for being a great Accountant though.

Arsenal's model for financing the stadium was different from ours. They basically had 20k more seats at £1000 per season.
We've got 26k of which 10k have gone for £5000 plus and we've also got loads of non football events.

Been saying this for years about Levy. Some of you get it, most still fall at his feet in worship though.

Son should be our highest earner for the kind of money he attracts to the club with his Hero like status in Asia, alone. Thats before we acknowledge his Balling skills.

Eriksen leaving us hurts but ill get over that one.

So you're hoping the prawn sarnie brigade will bail you out ?

As has been mentioned, you now have a period where you have to balance the books and still try to produce results on the pitch, coz those £5k season ticket holders ain't gonna be there when you're getting beat at home by the likes of Wolves.

10,000 people are paying £5,000 per season to watch Spurs? WTF?

Even if that’s true, those 10,000 people are probably already paying premium ticket prices so it’s not as cut and dry as a £50m inflation.
