Absolutely gutting. Bad hamstring injury. Awful for a young academy lad to pick up a serious injury. Also, as if we wernt shorton options already!
Joining Sims and Hesketh as players who have had their breakthrough continuously interrupted by long term injury. Hope he comes back stronger.
Only good thing about this is that he can learn how to harness his pace and he has LOTS of time on his side.
Unreal. As if we let Gabbiadini leave. What on earth were the club thinking? We even tried to sell Austin too according to some places!
Seriously? Just over a dozen league goals in two years of premier league football BETWEEN them. That’s an appalling record even to someone who wanted them both to succeed.
I think it is more that without them our other options are Long, Gallagher, Ings who is always injured and Obafemi who have less than a dozen PL goals between them in the last 2 seasons
Fair point and I get that. But if with Ings / Obafemi injured and Austin / Long failing to score the answer is to look deeper into the squad (Gallagher, N'Lundulu, Barnes, Afolabi) rather than bemoan the departures who also misfired. They are untested at this level and may not be the answer but they can't do any worse can they. Austin or Long have to start but worth trying one of the youngsters alongside them to make use of the space they create.
