The daily ignorance on here regarding the Brexit impact is truly incredible

Most of us on here will be dead before anyone can post a serious upturn following Brexit

Thoughts go out to the people of Swindon imo
It will effect 10k plus people in the end

And we somehow are on the outside with very little say about our future

    Crazy times

Global related changes yes it’s an opportunity to get out while you can imo Post Brexit the U.K. will be a poorer place ask any expert

    Press release my arse

We can all read what we want ? But no one can deny the timing nor the timeline of events

Why didn’t they do it last year ? The city knew then and speculation last year was rife ... the delay and the clear messaging from Honda U.K. last year was they were monitoring the situation in the U.K. regarding Brexit .

This delay could go not go on any longer and has cost Honda £ms as a calculated risk but after the government has ****ed up it has shattered any chances . Generally business is totally shocked on how the U.K. government and its politics have conducted themselves

Still focus on the cheese and wine cellars of the EU top toss pots ... it will be fine

I am guessing of course but willing to put €5 on the fact that location deals are already done mate

If Honda want to move to Europe then just stop and ponder at the possibilities

I tell you now Staines especially in the financial sector globals are ready to locate into Europe

The business attraction is not a trend
Saying that I also know that these greedy bastards hold all the cards and are attempting to do crazy deals to stay in the U.K.

Bottom line is a game of poker
We think it’s just amazon etc who pay f all they are all doing amazon style deals . Just today I know of two clients who have been able to halve there London rents for 5 years

    Panic means money

Give me a time scale that they announce they will be moving somewhere in Europe and I’ll take your bet if you’re not being silly and saying umpteen years.

It is what it is Staines mate
No one can deny things are happening
I am 100% confident that things I have seen and witnessed in my line of work are very real mate

Also remember that I actually hate some of the clients I work for because you get a very close feel on how this lot thinks and works

2 more years and I am out of it for good ... yes greedy in my own micro way and yes a hypocrite

But I can sleep at night taking funds from these bastards ... some just do not get it on how business operates in 2019 especially in the U.K.

The EU is introducing tighter security for ID cards in order to reduce identity fraud. Today, representatives of the Romanian Presidency of the Council and the European Parliament reached an informal agreement on a regulation which will strengthen the security of identity cards of EU citizens and of residence documents issued to EU citizens and their non-EU family members. The informal agreement will now be presented to EU ambassadors for confirmation on behalf of the Council.
The proposed new rules will improve the security of these documents by introducing minimum standards both for the information contained in them and for security features common to all member states that issue them.
Security throughout the EU can only be achieved by ensuring security in each member state. The new rules on security standards for ID documents will allow us to more easily detect document fraud and identity theft, making it harder for terrorists and criminals to act, while facilitating free movement of genuine travellers.
Carmen Daniela Dan, Romanian minister of internal affairs
    Security standards for ID cards
Under the proposed new rules, identity cards will have to be produced in a uniform, credit card format (ID-1), include a machine-readable zone, and follow the minimum security standards set out by ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation). They will also need to include a photo and two fingerprints of the cardholder, stored in a digital format, on a contactless chip. ID cards will indicate the country code of the member state issuing them, inside an EU flag.
Identity cards will have a minimum period of validity of 5 years and a maximum period of validity of 10 years. Member states may issue ID cards with a longer validity for persons aged 70 and above. If issued, ID cards for minors may have a period of validity of less than 5 years.
Phase out of old ID cards
The negotiating mandate foresees that the new rules will enter into force 2 years after adoption, meaning that by this date all new documents issued must meet the new criteria.
In general, existing identity cards which do not meet the requirements will stop being valid 10 years after the date of application of the new rules or at their expiry, whichever is earlier. ID cards issued to citizens aged 70 or more will remain valid until their expiry, provided they meet the security standards and have a machine-readable zone.
The least secure cards which do not meet the minimum security standards or do not have a machine-readable zone will expire within five years.
    Data protection safeguards
The proposed new rules include strong data protection safeguards, to ensure the information collected does not fall into the wrong hands. In particular, national authorities will have to ensure the security of the contactless chip and the data stored in it, so that it cannot be hacked or accessed without permission.
In addition, the new rules refer only to the security and information to be stored in the ID cards. They do not provide the legal basis for the creation of new databases at national or EU level, which is a matter of national legislation that needs to be in full compliance with data protection rules.
    Residence documents
The proposed rules also specify the minimum information to be contained in residence documents issued to EU citizens, and harmonise the format and other specifications of residence cards issued to non-EU family members of EU citizens.
    Background
In recent years, common EU security standards have been introduced for identity and travel documents including passports, visas and residence permits for third country nationals. However, under existing rules, the security levels of national ID cards and resident documents for EU citizens and their family members still vary significantly, increasing the risk of document fraud.
The new rules are set out in a draft regulation which was proposed by the Commission on 17 April 2018.
The proposed rules do not require member states to introduce identity cards or residence documents if they are not foreseen under national law.

I pay to Sense also but would want you to use
medicine sans frontier if I win

The Japanese by the way have purchased a lot of land around the Beziers Area last year absolutely no idea if it’s Honda and I will post more as and when as a French sheep I learn more

I can say it madness down there at the moment
New roads new factories a lot of investment in the Montpellier and Beziers areas

    From last week

On February 8, Mrs May met with Koji Tsuruoka, Japan’s ambassador to the UK, and representatives of major Japanese companies including carmakers, other manufacturers, and banks. Speaking after the meeting, the Japanese ambassador has reiterated the warning that his country’s firms will leave Britain if Brexit makes it “unprofitable” to stay. “If there is no profitability of continuing operation in the UK, not Japanese only, no private company can continue operations,” Mr Tsuruoka said

You might of missed my earlier question Paul, but why would Honda lie about Brexit having no influence on their decision ? I can’t think of any other than they’ve been paid off to deny it, which would be REALLY shocking.

Once the news is digested only then will you see where they end up in Europe

In 35 years in France I have never witnessed the acceleration of build in my area of the cities of Montpellier and Beziers ... now the French are always on it re the future but this is much much bigger ... new autoroutes the A75 joined the A9 and all hell has broken loose
