So "assists" and "shot assists" are the same thing? Makes you wonder why they differentiate between them

A: An assist is the pass to the player who scores. The one before that is very rarely tracked in football (ice hockey uses it a lot, iirc), but when it is used it's called the 'second assist'. A 'shot assist' is a pass that leads to a (non-successful) attempt at goal.
Looks like a hack from the Scotsman has used a so called "Stat" (which even Opta don't use) to show how good Tavernier is.
