That is true. I believe we average only 5 points in January. We got 7 this time around.
The problem is we now lack balance on the right. I'd like Comacho to come in right back but we don't have a right CB that would look after him like Gomez would or even Lovren.
It was the same issue there though we need the right CB to cover the runs inside and allow the full back to cover the line. We did that superbly when Gomez was in and it allows our RB more freedom.
Can't happen while Matip is in as he's out of position too often after running upfield, this is leaving our defence exposed.
Yeah that was his fault but an isolated incident I'm making a general point that Matip does not look after his RB and often goes off on a run upfield
and exposes the defence he needs to stay put.

I hope that the players aren’t....we still have to go for wins even if it is increases our chances to lose.

I'd rather it be keita LCM and let him wander about.
Let firmino go where he pleases to influence the game from false 9.
Frankly form these sorts of 10 men back games we need to turn sides and get down byline and look for cut backs. I'd rather salah wide right but advanced and have windy assigned to help right back and not have salah defend much still
We need to almost forget formations and just look at areas of support and zones to attack.
We have mane deeper on left so robertson can go past the opposition back line and cross.
We have salah advanced looking to run in behind so TAA/ milner need to be sitting a bit deeper playing ball to him, not really overlapping until we are very well advanced on pitch
We have Wijnaldum as RCM just helping full back out when we don't have ball.
We have once CM then on lft side spare to press with the front 3.
We need one man standing between CBs linking play and bringing forward momentum to passing.
We then have firmino... going where he thinks he needs to during game, either defensively or to out man midfield or where to make runs.
