Mainstream journalists are lazy and are only trying to get attention and/or shift some units. Man Utd are the most successful therefore highest profile team of the moment and have the largest fanbase (genuine and plastic).
It stands to reason the media will cover them a lot because it appeals to the highest number of people, thereby satisfying the above criteria.

Quite simple really list you reasons for hating the Mancs, everyones got them!

When i was younger in school i had 10 friends (at least) who support utd and i was the only Liverpool fan, non stop **** from them after every weekend.

Gary Neville

Their fans are the most arogant i have ever come across.

Claim that their success is mainly down to their youth policy and when they criticise teams for spending large sums of money they conveniently forgot about how they bought the title for years, but thats ok because they are Man Utd.

I cant stand the prawn sandwich library attendees. ******s

It's not that I hate them, it's just that there's nothing to like :1980_boogie_down:

Awww, do our nasty big footballers tackle your wimpy little foreigners?

Huh?! Carraghers tackle in the FA Cup game in January...Only to be blamed on bully tactics. Lucas 'getting into your lads' and winding em up - I don't think there's a Liverpool player scared of a tackle from your lot! As for 'Wimpy little foreigners' I refer back to the FA Cup game when Hernandes and Nani were mooted off the ball everytime, the win was due to a dodgy penalty that should never have been - So, if you want to use examples like tackles from twats, it ain't gonna work mate!

Did you not realise he was replying to a Arsenal fan ?

Why don't you go back, read the thread, and then understand that it was aimed at an Arsenal fan who moaned about our 'tough tackling'? Nothing at all aimed at Liverpool.

<ok>

Because the majority of fans are just glory-hunting bastards.

I was talking to 2 manc fans the other day and neither of them had watched any United match (or any MOTD!) all season while I had watched every Liverpool game (including preseason) and had watched MOTD twice on the day in question!

They simply support United for the convenience!

Ahhh, so the mark of a true fan is how many games you watch on TV. Glad that's all cleared up.

I missed the baggies game and didn't catch MOTD last week, because I was doing stuff with my children and out that night.

How ****ing plastic am I?

I think the point he was trying to make was they never watched a man u game. He knew more about their team then the so-called fans did.

And on subject, when someone over here has a man u shirt on, I ask them about something footy related, and they give me a blank stare. I reference their shirt, and they said they heard of the team.

Also, friends that 'like' man u, and taunt me when Liverpool loses, but if I mention their team losing, all of a sudden they're disinterested in the sport. They couldn't give two ****s about the BPL, but still taunt me for my team losing.

I live down in bournemouth and just remember people at school support Utd and genuinly thinking they are die hard fans when they have never been been to a game. I don't understand how anyone can feel part of a club if they don't get to games and actually SUPPORT the players. And there fans are just so arrogant it's amazing. I am very happy to see Man City, rightly or wrongly, catching up with them.

This isn't a trait that is only common with United though. Plenty of Liverpool fans were glory hunters in the eighties but it seems some Liverpool fans conviently forget this.

In terms of not knowing about the team, I find most Liverpool fans know very little about football in general :P
