Yeah, needs must. He proved at Bolton that given access to decent players he was prepared to play decent football. He’s definitely a pragmatist and realised that the best way to keep smaller clubs in the PL is to play attritional football. That’s why he’s never been relegated whereas someone like Hoddle has.

Depends on what you prefer.

I'd hate to have him here, he'd rip the little amount of soul we have left.

<yikes>
You are quite possibly the most clueless pundit on this board.

Matth knows more about footy than you do, Stan.

He’d have you lumping it up to Charlie Austin but he’d definitely keep you up. Mark Hughes has had bigger jobs than Fat Sam and he’s a far worse manager.

Funnily enough I actually believe you on that one and think I recall the match you mention <laugh>

There was one shot on target - a 25 yard volley - which Niemi did well to stop.

But that was it.

The rest of the match was a bland scrap with absolutely no goal mouth action.

But less of a **** and plays a slightly more attractive brand.

Only 'Arry and var come above Sam in my football dislikes.

His Bolton team were good. He worked a minor miracle there. Never been relegated. Not a top PL manager, not good enough for Everton, but a good one and there are a lot of chancers and charlatans who’ve been a lot worse than him.
I love Sam Allardyce. He's the best manager that Sunderland have had since, Peter Reid. His signings were awesome and some of our football was very pleasing on the eye.

That's only cos of some of the ****e you had before <laugh>

Bit like Hughes following Pellegrino.

My big memory is singing to the Bolton fans that they're only here for the weather.

<laugh>
You lads used to come up with some real gems.

My favourite was when you played 'Pool, and every time Michael Owen got the ball, your lot sang:

"You should stick to. ..
You should stick to ...
You should stick to playing cards!
You should stick to playing cards! "

It was the week after it had been revealed in the press that Owen had lost a fortune as a result of his poker addiction.

Hilarious.
