... not sure if that is completely true ... but heard it from another heart patient at the heart rehab sessions after my op ... the pills I currently take are a mixture of blood thinners, statins and beta blockers ...

I weaned my girl down from 30mg of that **** down to 12mg a day, she needs it for Nerve breakdown caused by her Cerebral Palsy. It becomes an addictive drug that loses it's efficiency, hence the user needing bigger dosages after time to get the same result. It's a head ****-up drug big time..

But yeah can be a horrible drug in terms of addictiveness and head **** up, had s pal whos Mum was on it for years. There's a reason that it's only reallty prescribed when absolutely necessary these days...

My Uncle had a heart attack Christmas eve so has a similar concoction, his kidneys are shot too so plus loads of others.

Our doctor told me in 2013 that if my girl ever went into major spasm then I could give her a one off hit of between 20-30mg of the stuff. You would be surprised just how much a doctor can fluctuate from a recommended daily dosage, they are put there for safety reasons and that people don't abuse. Pregabablin is the same, you would be shocked if you saw the lists I can go to bring a bad spasm to an end..

Pregabs (what we called them) are horrible ****ing things too, and yeah the daily maximum are generally way below the 'real' one.
Sorry to hear that mate ... in fairness taking the drugs is a minor thing for me ... it's supposed to be 'preventative' ... had a stress test check last week ... went to hospital where they put me on a strange exercise bike contraption - laid back at 45 degrees - made me keep pedaling the thing for 40 mins increasing the gradient every 5 mins whilst injecting drugs into me through a cannula in my arm at least 3 times - the drugs made my heart rate race as if by strenuous exercise - bastards - the pedaling would have done that on its' own by the end
... anyways - whilst I'm still awaiting the written report the clinician told me that his preliminary findings were 'all very good' ... don't mind admitting that I **** myself every time I have to go for any kind of check up I once gave my girl 450mg of Pregabs, her arms were all over the place, she was in agony. I knew 600mg was my max hit so I knew I had reserve if I needed it. Her spasm stopped in 20 mins and whilst she ate her dinner, she nodded off............. for 28 hours, seriously true..
**** me Joe ... all respect to you ... I can handle all the **** that has happened to me (even though I've been scared ****less a few times) but I find it very difficult to cope with anything where my loved ones are concerned - all the very best man
I can tell you that that honestly doesn't surprise me
The heavy hitter I carry is Fentanyl. My girl is on the 75mcg, 3 day patches but she is also on the tablet version under the gums for acute pain. Long term, severe pain sufferers are put on this instead of the vomit making morphine. The max is 600mcg a day over 3 200mcg hits, one got stuck in the blister pack one day so I used my teeth to get it out and a bit hit my tongue. ****ing tongue was numb for an hour and yet my girl takes them like smarties
