No not your significant other, in the EPL you disgusting minded bunch... Top 6 are pretty well established with 2 going for top spot and the other 4 fighting it out for the final European places. The 7 in the middle of the table from (7th-13th) look home and dry already with all but one team a maximum away of 10 points from the magic 40 for safety - not that you'll need 40 this year more like 32-35 points. Then there's the group in the bottom 7 (14th-20th), all within a one game swing of dropping in to the relegation zone. Looking at the full table, https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/newcastle-united/table I'm quietly confident we can keep ourselves up based on out defense alone. Apart from Leicester we've conceded less than anyone else outside the top 4 at present (31 conceded). If we can pick up a point from the next 2 league games (City and Spurs) I think we will still be outside of the relegation zone with 13 to go and with only 2 of the top 6 left to play after those 2 we should hopefully be able to eke out enough points to keep us safe. We also have to play 5/6 of our relegation rivals still. Top 6 fixtures for Relegation battle (and vs each other): Palace: ManU, Spurs, Arsenal (6/6) Soton: Arsenal, ManU, Spurs, Liverpool (5/6) Burnley: Spurs, Liverpool, City, Chelsea, Arsenal (4/6) NUFC: City, Spurs, Arsenal, Liverpool (5/6) Cardiff: Arsenal, City, Chelsea, ManU, Liverpool (4/6) Fulham: ManU, Liverpool, City, Chelsea (3/6) Huddersfield: ManU, Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal (3/6) So who's set for the chop? Palace look safe with the easiest run in and the most 6 point battles left, but will the pressure get to them? Huddersfield and Fulham look like their race has run with difficult fixtures left and the least of the teams around them to play but there is always one team who seems to string together a run of results and do the impossible to get out of it. Could complacency costs the rest? Do you think a team from outside the bottom 7 could get dragged in to the mire? Slander some teams around us here...
Picked the 3 most likely for the simple reason that they are the most likely. If only the games were going to be played on paper.
I think Cardiff, Huddersfield and Fulham should be the ones. On paper they look the worst sides. Cardiff have Warnock. He isn't going to pull any surprises or get them performing above their ability. Huddersfield could get a boost from the new manager but I think he will need to be something special. Goals will be an issue. Fulham are the ones to worry about. Ranieri is a quirky manager, if he turns their form around they could quickly go on a run. He is a strange bloke but he does have a canny knack when faced with a challenge. We should not go down. We are not one of the 3 worst sides on paper and our manager is competent. Unless Rafa does a bad job between now and May I don't think we will go down. He'd have to go if we did go down though.
Seem to be popular choices! You know I love my stats. What did Nikos Dabizas, Fabricio Coliccini, Steven Taylor and David Batty all have in common? All received 4 EPL red cards for the club but which goalkeeper is tied with Lee Bowyer for 2nd place with 3 dismissals?
Is this turning into a quiz? Which club did Michael Owen win his only Premier league title with? I picked the bottom three in the poll by the way.
What part of the male anatomy does Brian Pinas's surname sound like. Anyway: Huddersfield are ****ed, 10 points adrift, they're down. Fulham look gone too, 2 wins in 11 under Ranieri is hardly suggesting survival. Cardiff looked dogshit on Saturday, we've been dross recently and still easily rolled them over, they've gotta be the other favourites to go down. It's obviously gonna be 3 from 4 now, between us and the above 3 (Palace, Soton and Burnley look far better than the bottom 4), and we've gotta be strong favourites so stay up out of that bunch.
Which former Citeh midfielder played his only game for England against Spain in Feb 2007, months before joining us? I'm still going for the bottom three BTW.
And having consulted the google I'm right. My my he was an integral part of that championship winning squad wasn't he ? What a ****ing specimen that bloke is!
Cardiff have to be one of the favourites now. The Gods have got it in for them: https://www.express.co.uk/sport/foo...a-French-police-Cardiff-striker-missing-plane Emiliano Sala: French police claim Cardiff striker was on board the missing plane EMILIANO SALA was on board the missing plane which disappeared from flight radars according to news agency AFP. please log in to view this image Cardiff striker Emiliano Sala was on board of a missing plane that vanished A Piper Malibu plane with two people on board was travelling from Nantes in France to Cardiff last night. However, Guernsey Police confirmed it disappeared from radar near the Casquets lighthouse at about 20:30 GMT. It has since emerged Sala, who signed for Cardiff on Saturday, could have been on board. According to the BBC, there is ‘genuine concern’ at Cardiff over Sala’s whereabouts and the club are seeking clarification. A search and rescue operation was launched last night but stopped due to worsening conditions. HM Coastguard said the incident was not in the UK search and rescue area, but had sent two helicopters to help. "HM Coastguard are currently assisting Guernsey Coastguard with a search for a light aircraft off Alderney in the Channel Islands," a spokeswoman said. AFP say Emiliano Sala was on board the plane (Image: Twitter) "HM Coastguard helicopters from Solent and Newquay have been helping to search overnight with nothing found." Sala signed for relegation strugglers Cardiff over the weekend for £15million. He returned to France on Monday to say his goodbyes to his teammates and pick up his belongings. The 28-year-old was then due to take part in training with his new club at the Vale of Glamorgan Hotel in Hensol, South Wales. Cardiff boss Neil Warnock had been delighted to sign him. He said: ”It's around £15m, which is a lot. "But when you look in the Championship, that's what strikers cost. “I like him, he's a hard worker."
