Maybe worth considering their career post-football, too. Would Matt Le Tiss have the career with Sky Sports if he'd gone to Spurs and won nothing? He scored a lot of goals from midfield and mostly worldies, which gives him a certain status, but being a one-club man, in my opinion, gives him a unique status. Notable enough for Sky to hire him. He's also got the ambassadorial role, too.
Did Jamie Redknapp win much/anything in his career? I think the punditry thing is more about the individual. There are lots of pundits on there who were just solid top flight pros, not superstars
I would have loved him to stay, but given the respective trajectories of both clubs since he left, the quality of player he has since had the chance to play with and the massive increase in his bank balance, I doubt he'll be crying too hard into his Nivea.
I will concede that before he left we had something special going on, but his departure was preceded by that of Pochettino and before that, Nicola Cortese.
He could have summised (and history would have proved him correct) that our bubble was not that far from bursting and his chances of success were much greater at Liverpool.

On the "presser" Jean-Kevin Augustin was mentioned as being linked to us, judging by Ralph H expression that was news to him!
I think its fair to say that Adam would have had that sort of status though.
Especially those around my age or younger.
I suppose so.
The manner of his leaving was pretty ****ing shabby; but I can’t really blame him for trying to reach the heights in his career, and for seeing Liverpool as a better bet than us to do that with.
Loads of great memories anyway. I can’t be arsed to bear a grudge against any of the players who were part of our fairytale recovery from the depths of League One.
Would much rather Augustin than Poulsen, but think both seem pretty unlikely. Might be able to get Augustin on loan as he is more of a fringe player at RBL
