I've covered this topic before Ciaran but I personally don't believe in the "90 minute bigot" being the rule rather than the exception. There are plenty of bigots in Scotland who hide behind this sham excuse that "it's only a song" and the reason that bigotry continues to be a problem in Scotland is because too many people are either unwilling to accept that Scotland has a problem. Neil Lennon can testify to that.

We cannot deal with a problem until we accept it exists and it does exist. Burying our heads in the sand on the issue suits only the bigots.

Yes Neil is a victim of Sectarianism, no doubt about that. I have no problems dealing with it, the thing is that I think it has been blown out of all proportion Dev. It's just not Cricket mate, you have seen real, harmfull sectarianism I would imagine?

Erm, yeah. So what? It's a song mate ffs, who really gives a ****? I know guys who go to Gers games and blast the old party songs out but I would trust them with my life. No problem. It is escapism, a couple of hours at the weekend. Grow a back bone ffs <ok>

What are you telling me to grow a backbone for? How many times have I said (just on this thread) that I'm not in favour of the legislation?

But I've never understood the need to sing these songs? What the **** has the IRA got to do with my club? Absolutely **** all. A bunch of daft, wee, ignorant twats belting out Up the 'RA, the sort who who've probably never set foot in Ireland and only do it because it makes them feel big.

If you want to sing these songs do so in your houses or pubs or clubs. What the **** has it got to do with football?

When was Lennon attacked for his religious beliefs?

I suppose Wibble was often rolling around Ashton Lane or dodging slaps trackside.

Have you clowns not learned your lesson yet?

Why be a ballbag in a thread were we were actually talking about sectarianism and coming to some sort of equal thinking on it?

I have never sang an IRA song at the football in my puff. The ones that do, as you said, will not know what the speak of <ok>

Indeed I have and it has reared it's head in the case of Neil lennon, Trish Godman and Paul McBride. When people start getting parcel bombs sent to them in the post because they happen to (or are alleged to) support a football team I think it's evidence that we have a real problem in Scotland.

It's nowhere near as bad as NI but surely it should be nipped in the bud before we reach that stage or anywhere near it.

Of course, and it seems that those involved are being pursued, charged and hopefully convicted. A couple of morons mate. I see no reason why this goes farther than a couple on morons with a poor bomb making fetish <ok>

Pud had to sit on his own at a Wedding and easyontheeye had to join the Guides as he wasn't allowed in the Boy's Brigade. <ok>

Erm, i will just pull you up on something....i made no mention of the boy's brigade in any of my posts, i expect a prompt apology, coz we wouldn't want to think that your just making general rubbish up! <cheers>

And the people who set up Facebook sites saying kill Neil Lennon? And the idiots who sent stuff to Donald Findlay QC?

A couple of morons, who have had the religios aggravation tag added to the charges.

Whoever sent anything to Neil Lennon should be caught and charged and presented with the evidence against them. To trump it up to religious aggravation is a recipe for failure.

Unless there are sectarian messages that were included within these items which we are not aware of.

Imaging if whoever was charged with sending these device did actually do it, but got off on a technicality.

The backlash does not bear thinking about.

And doubtless these two fine upstanding individuals are not real bigots, they simply don't like Celtic or anyone connected to the club................or anyone who claims to be a friend of Ireland.

Glad you cleared that up for us <ok>

ps Do you know what the Moorov Doctrine is?

Whatever.

"ps Do you know what the Moorov Doctrine is? "

Yes but you would be assuming the same people sent all the devices/believed viable devices/bullets/threats.

Not proven i'm afraid.

The fact that the same two guys have been charged with sending bombs to the 3 people I mentioned seems to prove that the PF believes it was "The same people sent all the devices".

No?

Please do go on.

Maybe there is a big problem in Scotland regarding sectarianism with Girvan in the mix?
