Yep, I said it last week; no cup run compares to the run of 9 wins on the bounce we just had, and hope to have again soon. Getting a shiny thing for one run of wins but not another is arbitrary. Anyone want to swap tonight's defeat with the PL win against Wolves?
Studge was the worst player on the pitch, shocking performance. Milner showed he should never play the holding role. Camacho made Moreno look a **** too
I reckon it was a conspiracy. Klopp told Lovren to feign injury early on so he could get the nipper on the pitch without being accused of totally throwing the match.
Completely agree. Said it for years, I want to be entertained. If we win converging, great. If we don't, life goes on.
Yeah, ****ing right they(some of us will), why not? Klopp's football is exciting to watch(even as a manc you know that), but FSG/LFC aren't paying him to produce beautiful eye candy football. I thought tonight that he showed where his priorities are this season but in doing so he underestimated the opposition and never showed respect for the competition. But can you honestly say that Fergie, Wenger or those who followed at those clubs and others never did the same?, If at the end of the season he finishes without a trophy questions are bound to be asked, not just by his employers but also by the supporters.
Because it's supposed to be entertaining for the fans. Competitions are supposed to make it more fun, not be the primary target. The idea of collecting trophies with horrible football is a Mourinho-style mental illness.
I think the wrong question like this gets asked very often. It should be: with such a team playing such good football, shouldn’t we be expecting to win at least some measly trophy? How is it possible that such a disjointed team playing such crap football win at least 2 major trophies in the last few years? Look no one can be surprised that we don’t win any cups. Because we really dismiss them from our manager downwards. When in the past have we ever put out a side that’s destined to lose?
Several thousand ££££ a week? The pure enjoyment of doing something you love? Trying to push yourself and get the best out of yourself? A combination of these or other factors? As only a small fraction of footballers have a real chance of winning a trophy it certainly isn't that that's the motivating factor. Oh, the colossal arrogance of fans either lucky enough or plastic enough to follow a successful team.
This is the script. When we play Wolves again last day of the season all the commentators get to say "Wolves won the last time these two met, can Liverpool win this time and set a PL points record?"
Ahh right, do all your sponsors feel the same? Trophies were invented as an aim/target, to be the best in a competition is an honour. I hope one day you will be "entertained" all the way to the championship division so I can see your reaction
