You think any team is in a position to rubbish a trophy, ever? Genuine question

Past 10 years the League cup has been won by one of the big English clubs.

Plus fans on the whole are a bit meh about the 2 domestic trophies...you only got to look on here. Even Poch has this kind of attitude...can't say I agree with him but the prestige has been taken away from the 2 cups by the money and hype of the PL and CL

Any trophy is better than none. And the FA cup is the oldest and one of the most revered trophies in the game. But yeah you're right the prestige of the League and the Champions League has taken the shine off the FA cup a bit in recent times. It shouldn't, but that's the modern game.

Appalling comment on the Liverpool board. Entitled ****e.

“Bolox to the cup, lost all it's appeal in my opinion. Champions league and league is all that counts. An FA cup and League cup only patch over a trophyless period, but mean nothing really.”

It’s the kind of thing you’d expect to hear from a fan of a club who win the big pots consistently, not that lot who’ve won ****all.

But the FA Cup has history, and football fans - being an odd bunch, really - do care about history. So it will never completely lose it’s lustre to the fans, whatever the rest of the football world thinks of it.

Agreed. I think it's a wonderful competition, it's got it all. I love the 3rd round when the minnows get a chance at some giant killing. The draws when a smaller team gets through and then gets an away tie at Utd etc. Right up to the final. Used to love watching it back in the 80's when both Grandstand and World of Sport would cover the event from around 10am and show the team coaches on their way to Wembley. Proper magic of the FA cup.

Yeah it was always matter to the true footy fans.
