...and yet we secured top 4 without him.

Is he really that important to us? Since he's been a regular in the squad, we've lost our bite up front. To my mind, he's been nothing but a luxury player for us.
 
Didn´t Sandro say more or less the same thing,that he would be back in about a month.So i wouldn´t be to optimistic,especially with our injury record.But hope i´m wrong. COYS
 
Hopefully he's right and will be back asap. Will be interesting to see whether Harry will change things around or not though. Keep the 4-5-1 with Kranjcar taking the position or swtich to a 4-4-2 with Adebayor and Defoe up front.
 
I'd love us to try starting with Ade and Defoe up front, and to use VDV as plan B, bringing him on as a sub to change the game in the second half, if we need to. With VDV injured and out for a few games, Harry is being forced to set the team up without slavishly putting VDV's name first on the team sheet, and he's going to have to actually think about winning games with his strikers.

I see this as a good thing.

Of course, what I don't allow for is the fact that, even if the team manages to play blinding team football without VDV, as soon as he's fit again, Harry will f*@k everything up by reverting back to type and unsettling the whole team again.

What's the betting that Defoe will start scoring again, with VDV out of the squad, and with a competent strike partner up front with him?
 
we don't have enough fit midfielders to play a strong 5 in the middle. Until we get them fit i think we'll be sticking to 4-4-2. It'll be Bale, Modric, Parker, Lennon and Hudd off the bench until Rafa and Sandro get fit.

Bale, Modric, Parker, Lennon and Kranjcar up behind Adebayor would still leave us with Huddlestone, Livermore, Townsend and Dos Santos spare.
 
The article says that his Hamstring is torn. If that's the case, no way will he be back in two weeks. If it's just a strain, maybe. But, if it really is torn, you're looking at 6-8 weeks - unless modern medicine has moved on that far.
 
He played 28 league games for us last season despite being signed at the last possible moment, Lidls.

If you listen carefully, you can hear what appears to be somebody swearing very loudly emanating from Spurs Lodge, which what sounds like a Mexican accent...

If (and I did say if) he is back in training within two weeks, hopefully we don't rush him back into the team and get him injured again within a fortnight. Like we did repeatedly in 2010/11...

I was going to suggest taking that report with a pinch of salt Ensil, but it does appear that there actually is a Dutch doctor of that name who specialises in leg injuries.
