This may be ideal for us. Levy will know Poch will be high on Utd’s list, may result in a juicy January signing to keep the gaffer sweet
Yeah, but you know how much of an egotistical megalomanic Mourinho is. He always feels like he has something to prove. That he is still the best in the world at what he does. That he's been hard done by. That circumstances have let him down and that it's never his fault. Let's be honest, this will sorely damage his self-image and reputation, which he cares about a lot. When he gets interviewed about his time at United, I can only imagine the vitriolic, myopic garbage he's going to be spewing. His meltdown will be epic, but I hope that no other club in England takes a punt on him again. He is finished in England. Absolutely finished.
Give him his due, he had a 58.33% win average, second only to Ferguson and won two trophies in his time so he's allowed to boast..........a bit.
The two trophies he won were the Europa League and League Cup in his 1st season. The expectations at Manchester United are to be competing for bigger prizes than that. Now - obviously history won't care about the teams he faced or how easy his route was, and obviously the players still need to remain focused to win each game. But seriously, he couldn't have had a simpler route to both trophies if he tried. Did you see the teams he played to get to the Europa League final? How embarrassing would it have been if he hadn't won it ffs. Win percentages are misleading. Tim Sherwood had a decent win % at Spurs, that doesn't mean he was the right fit or would have been a good long-term manager for you. The reality is, he alienated a lot of his star players by castigating them in the media or calling them viruses to their faces, he played drab football despite having an embarrassment of riches in attack, lost the confidence of his dressing room, publicly undermined his Chief Exec, and moaned about his squad not being good enough or not being able to compete with Everton/Fulham's investment despite spending £400m from when he arrived. He even fell out with MUFCTV. How toxic do you have to be to piss off your club's TV channel for ****'s sake? Fans weren't happy. Players weren't happy. Staff weren't happy. Board weren't happy. It was only going to end one way for him. The only surprise is that he lasted this long.
Anyone hoping for a relaxing Christmas better get their tin hats on as the media frenzy over United trying to poach Poch is going to be unbearable.
The Express and Star are like a dog with 2 dicks. That's their back page headlines sorted until May or June....
I give it three months before he blames the olives for the pizzas getting dropped on the floor... :::EDIT:::
For all of us who had a few hundred quid on maureen being the first prem manger to be sacked this season, fek Southampton, fek Fulham.
Not here. We deals in *stats* not STATs. "Tim Sherwood had a decent win % at Spurs, that doesn't mean he was the right fit or would have been a good long-term manager for you." His win record at Spurs was shown here to be statistically insignificant (me by using "robustness" to show how weak the data set was, lennypops via a "Z-scores" analysis on AVB - and implicitly also on Timmy) .
Here's one for everyone crowing about Steptonho's win percentage Alberto Stephtonho - 58% Matt Busby - 52% One of those managers won five titles and a European Cup, completely rebuilt the entire team, and is a huge part of the club's identity. The other won the Season Killer Cup and Europa League while dismantling the entire team to satisfy his own ego while pissing off everyone within a 60ft radius of him at any given moment
Depends, is it against the rules to have an actress pretend to be an Anglican vicar on your political programming?
I am not in the least bit worried about Poch leaving us for United next summer - Real Madrid maybe, but United no I just cant see it.
I agree. Zidane must be lined up. There isn't time to prise a manager away from another club and get him in place to do transfer business in January. I bet Zidane has been in discussions for a while.
