Never read Rowling, but Tolkein is another example of a creative mind that’s on another level to the vast majority of us.
The first Potter is a short book. Give it a go. You’ll either think it’s brilliant or ****.

@Commachio the lord of the rings books are good if you enjoy fosses essays (i.e. they are ****ing long winded). Better off sticking to the films for that ****

As for Harry Potter, read the first 4 mate, maybe even the fifth. I hated the 6th and 7th.

I haven't bothered with the new magical world **** either, now she's just milking it imo

I read the first few Harry Potters and they were so ridiculous I couldn't do any more. There is some bad ass evil hero wizard who ****s everyone up until some 11 year old kid who knows 1 gash spell you learn on your first day turns up and keeps beating him, so unrealistic.
