Never read Rowling, but Tolkein is another example of a creative mind that’s on another level to the vast majority of us.
The first Potter is a short book. Give it a go. You’ll either think it’s brilliant or ****. You may be just too old for it now bruv!
@Commachio the lord of the rings books are good if you enjoy fosses essays (i.e. they are ****ing long winded). Better off sticking to the films for that **** As for Harry Potter, read the first 4 mate, maybe even the fifth. I hated the 6th and 7th. I haven't bothered with the new magical world **** either, now she's just milking it imo
I read the first few Harry Potters and they were so ridiculous I couldn't do any more. There is some bad ass evil hero wizard who ****s everyone up until some 11 year old kid who knows 1 gash spell you learn on your first day turns up and keeps beating him, so unrealistic.
As Bob says the Lord of the rings is long winded, for me it felt dated (obviously) and too discriptive for my impatient mind to stick with. Love the films though.
