He also said he'd lost his job because of this...strange as it can take a while to sack someone unless they steal from you or hit a work colleague. Be interesting to know what job he had.
Ah yea course , doesn’t matter what he said aslong as it wasn’t of a racist nature. People are to PC and petty these days, does my head in.
Sometimes being arrested and not notifying your employer first before it becomes public knowledge is a breach of contract and they’re well with in their rights to sack him. Especially high profile cases such as this. Ovbiously I don’t know if that happend , just a possible scenario.
From what I have read he is claiming he used the word "manc" instead of the accused word of "black" before the awful c word.
Anyway, if they are shouting racist stuff at him, they deserve all they get. If they are berating him as opposition fans, then that's something we see all to often, without wanting to trivialise it. I'll leave this to the experts.
It would be a bad day if football fans were prevented from having a good rant, it's a great way to let off steam and words never hurt anyone. However there is no room in the beautiful game for using abuse as a tool to get racist opinions aired.
I know a lot of football fans who hate Raheem because he's a dick, not because he's black. I also remember the summer, whilst in a pub hearing people shout dogs abuse at him while he was at the WC. It did feel like he was being singled out.
Whilst I'd rather be sworn at than hit, I cannot agree that words don't hurt anyone....they can destroy confidence and get in your head so that you hear them for the rest of your life. Too many people think that shouting so that they feel better is acceptable...how about being reasonable and having some self control and consideration for others.
What I find really difficult about this is, how people would scream racist abuse three feet away from the guy, whilst pretending to support players in their own team who'll be hearing what their saying. It doesn't make sense.
And sometimes people gang up on one person so that they feel part of a group....many berating Raheem may not be racist but they may not realise the undercurrent with some others.
