I think she will resign after the vote (which she will probably win) due to the amount of votes against her. Even if she wins the rebels won't support her deal so she won't get it through the House.
I also think the best way forward is to get rid. Another problem I have, is that Boris is not as popular as people think. Only today an MP said "he is more popular with the Media than in his own party”.
I notice that they keep mentioning the timings of this and I believe they all know something we don’t. It may be another stitch up. They are having one of those meetings tonight before the vote (the ones that want her gone) to come together to choose a successor as there are 2 or 3 split groups.
Whatever happens it must be a Leaver. Davis is a cool head. Raab is inexperienced. Boris is Boris. Javid is a remainer but would be a good future bet. Other than that I can’t see any others bringing party together.

Apparently May has said if she only wins by 1 she would carry on? That is not the sort of thing she should be saying as it seems to be about her and not the party. We could look at that in a parallel universe as the Brexit result and how we would feel?
I just hope she goes. The worst would be if she wins by a two or three votes and announces this gives her authority going forward. It doesn't.
For me, I'd go with Raab. He's tough minded, a lawyer so he can understand the complex legal issues in Brexit and understands hostile negotiations, and has had experience in the Brexit negotiations and knows the issues and the players in the EU. In fact, the reason he left the Cabinet was that he told May that an indefinite backstop would not get through Parliament. She disagreed and sidelined him, running the negotiations with support from Robbins, just as she ran her disastrous election campaign with advice from Nick Timothy. She may be dogged, but her negotiation skills and general judgement are terrible

I have always liked Raab but he has made a couple of goofs recently and I don't know having an old face going back. With someone new its a different ball game.
I still think they are aiming for WTO.
Yes, he put in his mouth over the Dover thing, although not as badly as Johnson over the mother in Iran. I could forgive him that for his other attributes. Javid, with Raab as Brexit secretary, might work.

The EU needs reform of course but I still believe the UK can do this a lot better from within

The issues we have with the UK outweigh the issue of Brexit imo always have been
We need to reform our own governance first and move away from self obsession in all aspects of our culture before any common good have achieved
Self obsession is the root of my opinion regarding the UK including all of us on here When you have opinions flying around deemed good or bad then you will always have spilts ... my cul de sac theory re a cake sale.
In recent decades we have seen our neighbors show real togetherness ie Germany’s Unification and currently France

Nice reply, BD, but of course the two are very different. Thatcher found that she couldn't lead with a slim majority of her party's support. If May got 52% against one other competitor, she'd win and her opponent on 48% would lose (I acknowledge this is a split reluctant Remainers find hard to accept). Guilty. Have been clinging on to membership to vote in next leadership election. Will probably resign thereafter.

Not me, I like to keep my options open, although I do think, infighting or not, they are the only game in town. The Lib Dems are now an irrelevance, UKIP are moving towards fascism and the prospects of a Corbyn/MacDonnell government are too terrible to contemplate.

I'm hoping she wins by one vote and decides to carry on. Labour then calls the No Confidence vote on the government which the other opposition parties have called for, the government falls and Labour take over.
