Not pointless if there is another Referendum or for future General Elections.

The high court yesterday threw out a legal challenge from a group of ex-pats who said that the result of the referendum should be overturned because they weren’t allowed to vote, I believe the only people who were not resident at the time of the election who were able to vote were forces personnel.

They could theoretically ask British citizens living abroad to give documentation of actual connections with the UK, but practically it would be impossible. I guess most British citizens who have no actual connections with the UK (apart from passport renewal!) would probably not bother to vote anyway.

How many of voting age actually living in the UK couldn't be bothered to vote
Most expats given the chance probably would
The remoaners only needed a million foreigners to beat the brextards

Well you would then exercise your right not to vote but you being British still should have had the opportunity.

Here's another one, conducted this month, which shows a 12% lead for Remain. Individual polls mean little of course, but Kellner maintained that there had been a general shift in recent weeks. If this is borne out by more polls like this one, I would say that it is significant.

    https://www.bmgresearch.co.uk/independent-poll-dec-18-brexit/

The article gives notes of caution, pointing out that the shift is coming mainly from people who didn't vote last time, rather than a lot of people changing their minds. But the thing is, this trend is likely to continue surely, with Remain-supporting young people turning 18 and older Brexit supporters 'Leaving'.

I very much hope you're right :) For me, would need to see a few more polls, consistently over a few months, but can appreciate there appears to be some movement.

Brexiteers were too focused on their big win and generally still think that winning by a 4% margin then holds. Two years have slipped by since then and it’s very clear nationwide that the true feeling does not reflect that result

If it does come again the the vote imo will carry a 20% swing to remain. The remainers choice hasn’t changed it’s solid I believe The Brexiteers contained a massive protest element within and now the problems are clear to all it itself is divided

No deal will not be allowed to go ahead plus still waiting for any Brexiteer to spell out exactly what their vision of the future exactly is

Stay in Europe and reform the concerns from within should be right way to go. The UK can lead the EU from within. It is very clear it could not by being a sovereign nation both NI and Scotland are clear remainers as our all our major cities

Plus we have a system of politics that itself is clear needs change

Let's take this crap one step at a time:
    1) I haven't always said we should give something to the 48%, I have been won over to that opinion by reasoned debate.
If you ever acknowledged anything anyone said you'd know that
    2) No, I don't believe that May, Ollie Robbins or any of the remainers at the top of the political elite ever tried to negotiate with a tough stance. They never, ever intended to honour the result which is why leave supporting brexit secretaries had to resign.
I believe that a good deal would have been forged by being serious about leaving with no deal and preparing for that outcome from day one.
Instead they all capitulated to ensure the empasse we have today.
    3) Yes the EU would have comprimised if they believed we were serious about walking away. They knew we weren't.
    4) I am not an arrogant nationalist, I am a patriot. There's a world of difference, but I wouldn't expect you to ever understand that. I do believe that we are a force in the world. We are the world's 5th largest economy and it's financial centre.
    5) Please show me where I have said the following that you quoted, "I realise that there will be some pain, but I'll be alright because I've planned for my future so I'll be alright and the victims should have as well".
This is pure bullshit made up by you. I've never said I've planned for the future, other than I was prepared to take a small financial hit for a principal that I believed in. I never called anyone a victim or said that they should have prepared for disaster. I've never believed it would be the Armageddon being predicted by the scaremongering from remain.
If you read what I'd said you'd know this, but you're too arrogant in your own views to do that.
    6) It's not my Tory government, I didn't vote for them at the last election.
Again you lie by saying I've said I'm on the right. I've always said I'm centre right.
Again you ignore what people really say in order to slag them off.
So, in conclusion and without further ado.....

Get your ****ing facts right before making personal attacks on me.
Get your head out of your Tory hating arse and see that there are more opinions than just your warped view of this country and the world.

I would actually say we as a society are more tolerant than you might believe, at least down south (can't talk for up north as never lived there).

So with your Labour Party comment are you insinuating that I’m anti Semitic ? Bit harsh if you are.
Yes I am a member by the way

Simon Coveney, Irish spokesman today- "We will not be renegotiating the withdrawal agreement which was hard won...."

Says it all. When May came back with her terrible deal, the EU felt they had won.

    May has to go NOW

Dipper :emoticon-0136-giggl (sorry but that always makes me laugh). I didn't really use 'Muppets' in this debate. From my memory I have used "remoaners", "EuroFreaks", "enemy within". I really only used muppets in football talk. I don't believe I have used it in quite a long time. In fact, after Tramore warned me over this I have refrained from using it personally. So not sure why you used me as an example.

I was thinking this only yesterday after hearing that MP wanting all EU residents living here to be able to vote, all 3 million of them (yeah right). In that case we should include all Australia New Zealand... I know which way they would vote. :emoticon-0105-wink:

I would also remember all of these countries that are making this hard for their own gain? When we get rid of May and get in a strong Brexitier leader in the tables will turn.
