If Lee Bowyer is anything he is brutally honest.
If he says he is not fussed about Charlton being knocked out of the FA Cup in this manner and he believes he has done nothing wrong, then he means it.
Of course he is right when he says we were never going to win the FA Cup. But that is such a crass statement of the obvious that it insults the intelligence as well as the values and loyalty of those Charlton fans who have had great respect for him until now.
It is also obvious from Bowyer's attitude that he does not care that Charlton fans have been denied an opportunity to be part of 3rd Round day, and the possibility of a historic tie against one of the best teams in the country.
An opportunity to enjoy anticipating being part of one of the traditional greatest days in the English football calendar. An opportinity to be part of the build-up to that day. An opportunity to hope perhaps for a Cup giant-killing that fans will talk about for decades to come.
And for what?
To give Billy Clarke and Ben Reeves some minutes.

What you see of him is exactly what you get.
That is worthy of respect in itself, even if you might discover you don't actually like what he shows himself to be.
The manner of Charlton Athletic's exit from the FA Cup this season and LB's comments have shown Charlton fans quite a lot more about the kind of person that he is.
It's up to each of us as individuals how we react to that, and how much (if at all) it changes our estimation of him.
