Sign him to a 3 year contract , and if he's happy to do 3 years and let's you know at the end of the second year he will do his last year then move on . Accept that and spend that third year looking for a replacement .

Don't tell him he has to sign an extension , or he may go after 2 years , which helps nobody .

The early signs from the new board are better. For one they’ve acted much earlier with making the first part of the change. Remains to be seen whether the recruitment side will be any different. Here’s hoping!

If there’s one thing I’ve learnt about Saints in the past 3 years is that it can always get worse!

Quite the opposite. Ron left because we wanted him to commit to a long deal but he wanted to see out his last year.

Ralph left Leipzig because he wanted a long term deal but they wanted to see how the season went before extending his remaining 1 year deal.
