Yeah, its shocking. Every morning I come into work now, I see big charities collecting money in the Market square and down the bottom of Durham on the bridge. It's literally every ****ing day. There's homeless people sleeping in shop doorways being ignored, why don't the charity hand them the days takings <grr>

Those charity collectors are often paid sales people and not volunteers for those charities

Basically at one point theynadvertised posts and you got paid £15 for every 3 people who signed up to give a quid a month etc. Am sure it's more now

These people knocking on doors etc are not like the little old lady with a salvation army tub freezing stood outside Tesco

That said the chief executive for the Sally army is on about 600k pa

If I meet an attractive homeless young woman I will often allow her to give me a BJ so that she feels that she has really earned the money ...

DISCLAIMER: Not really serious - for those that are easily offended -

sometimes I will reluctantly agree to a hand job instead <whistle>

Money?? I just let them blow me for summat warm in their bellies

If people need to be reminded or encouraged to give to charity, then it's a sad world we are living in.
I don't disagree but the OP was asking for ideas. I think the other thing is there's loads of brilliant charities that go under the radar - so it's good for people to publicise them.

Any of you gents do anything for charity or do anything charitable over the Christmas period?

I'm lucky enough to have been brought up in a relatively well off family.

Must be really **** to be poor or homeless at this time of year.

I'd like to do something - I quite often buy an extra coffee for homeless folk.

Looking for ideas? Here's one. Next time your behind an old grannie in the queue at Tesco's at Christmas, and they've got a load of cheapie foods (not if they're clearly bloody loaded), pay their bill while they're still packing their bags. Not talking about a £100 tab, it won't be that high anyway.

I did something similar a while back.

An old woman was short on her bill so I did the right thing and helped her put it all back.

I fairly often give a few quid to those I think are needy .

Then again , sometimes I see people clearly taking th3 piss and it puts me off .

Someone asked me for cash once. Said they were autistic and stranded from home. He hit the jackpot there as my nephew's autistic so I felt really sorry for him and gave him a few quid. **** pulled the same stroke about six weeks later. I felt like a right idiot....<
