That isn't my main gripe mate, it's understandable. Jimmy Hill coerced the referee into delaying kick off. He then had the Sunderland score announced. He was on the so called disciplinary panel that 'investigated' what happened. He warned Coventry not to do it again He later joked about what happened. After that night I kept a bottle of beer to celebrate the day he died ... bitter? No it was lager actually but it still tasted beautiful after all those years
On reflection you're correct. I distinctly remember your result being announced and tbf that's when Yorath and Hunter 'got together' .
It was a horrible way to be cheated, can never forget or forgive anything or anybody connected , especially Hill.
Remember finding out about it after the event. It was something I'll neither forget nor forgive. Why should I? It was a blatant injustice, so **** Coventry and **** Jimmy Hill. I hope they have to move grounds and sell that statue of JH anarl. We should buy it and stick it in a SoL bog so we can piss on it at half time...
Been on the drink for a few days so missed a few posts but this one has cheered me up no end. Absolutely delighted to agree with all of you my hatred for these cheating b*stards. I sincererly hope they go out of business.
A vile man who abandoned his children, cheated on his wife with his secretary and others then cheated on her on with any slapper who crossed his path. No wonder they only hung around for the money at the end. Turned his back on Coventry and took as much money out of the game as possible.
I have never had a problem with Coventry or Bristol City, too many younger fans hear a well stretched story to what happened that night. My grief was always with Jimmy Hill, the face of football in the media 70's. When he died, he took my anger with him..
Alright Cocker ( see what I did then ) I wish I could do that to be fair as I was only a bairn when it happened LOL.
Was watching Joe on You Tube last night at Woodstock never seen anybody as stoned as that before or after that performance can't really picture Ed Sheeran doing a gig like that.
There is still festering hatred between the 2 'older' supporters... That was clearly visible down at the Ricoh a couple of months ago If we don't go up automatically, I'd love to go back down there again in the Play-Offs
