I agree if we are to buy in Jan we'd need to sell but I believe we can shift some of the failures come Jan, although I think we'll have to settle for a lot less than we'd like. Origi would be easy to sell if we were to lower the price (the high price might be due to us being unsure as to whether we should sell for cover). Moreno would be another easy sale if we just told him to **** off.

Then it just depends on how much cover we need as to who else we'd be willing to sell and if we could shift the other dead wood like Markovic.

true but we are talking what?

moreno = a free in may. he won't fetch anything unless someone really wants a **** LB early
Origi = fee of 27 mil put everyone off... or maybe his wage demands did who knows. the combination is a complete no hope. more likely to be another loan in january. the loans fetch in 2 or 3 mil. IMO 10mil max fee.
Markovic = complete write off. cost us 3 mil last summer and ended his own career. 20 mil write off. I don't mind the write off par se as he is depreciated v tax anyway as a fee.

who else?

Solanke is not going on loan apparently.
Lallana - can't see him going.
Grujic is already on loan.
mingolet apparently won't be loaned even til next may.
chirivella deal fell though. another 3mil only.

clyne? rumour of cardiff. dunn owhat fee, has 2 years left. 10mil? 5? who knows.
Matip was rumoured to fulham
Sturridge on an ealry bye bye.. can't see it either.

What is there there 15mil? maybe 20?

I think the reality is LFC can't spend in january.

2018/19 141.75mil
2017/18 -28mil
2016/17 -6.5mil
2015/16 28 mil
2014/15 38.4mil

I'm sorry but if you look at this this way... lots of change, low ents spend for 2 years (negative) but one whopper of a bill this year as some guys just didn't shift. So..... theres no way theres a way in FFP to justify another 100mil fee on dembele.

lets call a spade a spade lads.

It's not just transfers though, again and as always I may be wrong but isn't it a whole club finance thing, so if we bring in 500million in profit we can then spend 500million on transfers and not have to worry about recouping money from sales.

Also if we did spend 100 on one player doesn't it get split over the length of his contract or something.

I don't think ffp matter at all to be honest, if a club wants to avoid it, they can, but it's a handy excuse for them to give the fans if they are bit tight with the transfer kitty.

I bet we do.
How?
Out of contract in the summer, awful injury record, high wage demands and a betting scandal over his head (potential ban?). So who's buy? The intensives to buy are low.

Why would anyone want to 'buy' when they could just wait? In fact I would think the list of summer suitors has also probably dropped recently.

It was a topical joke mate. What were the odds on that going over your head .... <whistle>

But jokes aside, if he can come in and score a few more goals for us then he has value.

Yes it's revenues all in designed not to level playing field button allow richer clubs spend more.

If we can afford 200mil ok but there the way it goes.

On accounting.... ffp rules and actual accounting are two different things. Yes player fees are amortised but ffp demands a level of sustainability over 3 years.

Right now we could say... ok. Prior two years we should have had approx 40mil a year but we actually took in 34mil so 40+40+40+34= 154mil.... all we actually did was spend what we took in plus 40mil budget per year that we kept building up.

That ignores a run to cl final....and other revenue increases.

So can we spend 20mil more... I dunno maybe but there really are very very few player for less than 50mil now and usually none in January.

If we go into the game against City at the start of January within 3 points, or come out of it within 3 points, then I think it would be a tragedy to not buy a creative midfielder and/or new striker

Liverpool transfer news: Rangers star Ovie Ejaria urges Dominic Solanke to quit Anfield and join him in Scotland
The Reds midfielder is on loan at Rangers and wants his pal to boost their title challenge

Liverpool and Chelsea may want to take note of some promising transfer news emerging from Spain today involving Marco Asensio and his future at Real Madrid.

It’s not been a great season for the Spain international, and it seems Madrid president Florentino Perez is running out of patience with him, according to Don Balon.

Solanke deffo needs to go o loan, he's not ready and needs game time who knows in the future.

If i were him i would have no interest at all playing u23 at LFC.

I would be looking and seeing

a) is origi going or not.
b) is sturridge the only sub being used as cover for firmino.

If realistically over the next month theres no route for anyone into LFC team then I think he should be saying right, i can't afford to piss about here and get himself his loan.

Yes anything could happen. By end of january sturrdige could be ****ed again and origi gone and he's the main sub coming on... equally klopp could have got shut of origi and bought another striker.

He's got to have his irons in the fire as its his future now.... and imo there absolutely nothing wrong with looking to ones future.
