Cheers Pilgrim. Been punted too!
The presence of the Fry/Fehily combo tempers my enthusiasm!

What's your views on Johnbb in the same race Stick? That's the one I'm drawn to. I'll not be having a bet, price is way too short for each way and not confident enough on it to play win only. You seem to do quite well in these types of races especially so would be interested in your thoughts on it please

Drovers Lane & Fairway Freddy today for me.

Former made a mistake when travelling really well at Aintree and the latter caught my eye for handicaps.

There really isnt much to go on from the pedigree aspect as the dam was unraced and he is her first sibling to get to the racecourse. The sire is a nice sire of bumper horses though. I really like the trainer and he has a very good strike rate in bumpers. The bookies are now having him on their radar though so not such great value any more. The yard form is ok at the moment without being outstanding. They paid good money for this beast so I expect him to be a good looking boy.
I would watch him rather than back him today.

Whilst on the subject of this yard. If you re-watch yesterdays bumper their horse in it ran a very encouraging race. Expect it to go very close next time out. Lady Cylla.

I quite like Drovers Lane but I reckon the Longsdon horse, Lisdoonvarna Lad, may have got in here under a handy mark. Had some tidy hurdles form despite always looking a chaser in the making. The step up in trip will suit him very well. He had no chance behind Kalashnikov on debut but it looked very much like a prep run!

He was very poor at Warwick and the yard aren’t in great form. He’s an interesting horse for sure, but not sure today is the day.

Morning, team. Well the question has got to be asked. What did we think of Headman last evening. I guess the 2 scenarios re his performance are: (i) the first time he came up against a half decent animal he was brushed aside, or (ii) both Headman and last night’s winner (who he conceded 7 lbs to let’s not forget) are very, very good horses who finished 4.5 lengths clear of the 3rd. Headman has now raced against 16 horses and all bar Zakouski he has beaten them upwards of 3.75 lengths (and conceding weight to the vast majority of these as well). I guess the truth lies somewhere between the 2 (precisely where though is up to each and every individual) and when he runs next you will pay your money and take your pick re his credentials!

Jakouski incidentally currently quite ‘blue’ on Oddschecker for the 2019 2,000 Guineas (best price, at the min, 33/1). Headman pushed out to 66/1 for that race (25’s available in a place!) but remains unchanged at 33/1 – 40/1 for the Derby.

Good luck all, today.

Thanks for this I'll keep an eye on the race

9 runs and 26 days without a win.
She really hasnt kicked on after looking a future star of the training ranks has she?

I think she’s had a positive start this season after the dreadful season last year. She just doesn’t have the numbers she did have before the split. The fact she’s had only 27 runners this season (similar numbers to the likes of Kerry Lee) says it all.

That said, she has some useful sorts and Relentless Dreamer has already given the yard a boost.

It’ll be interesting to see how her season goes, progress with regular winners and a few nice horses for the future would be a good outcome.

There was a stable tour with Tom Lacey in ‘The Weekender’ a few weeks back and the note I made was that he has an unraced 4YO who, he reckons, is working very well and will be ready first time out. He also thinks the gelding by Flemensfirth will be competitive in Grade 1 hurdles by the end of this season. I mention this as the horse, Hazzaar, has an entry on Saturday in an exceptionally strong, at this stage, looking Ascot Bumper. One to look out for, methinks.

Re Lady Cylla it wouldn’t be a surprise, surprise, I say surprise, surprise if she won next time. What, what, what, what, what, what, what?!?

Had a bit on Soupy Soups (what a fine name for a gelding) in the 14:00 at Market Rasen. 7/1 with Laddies. Has a squeak in this one.

Betfair Chase looking like an absolute belter. Can't wait for Saturday <ok>

Alex Hammond has tipped Clan Des Obeaux <laugh>

I think Thistlecrack could be the forgotten horse of the race at around 8/1
