What facts were these? You quoted league positions, you’re not going to win the league either, so that fact is irrelevant.
What makes you think this season will be any different to the last ten? The stronger squad? The new manager with a track record of winning trophies? The new stadium?
The question is: "Who has the better chance, this season, of winning something?" Not: "Who WILL win something?" Spurs, clearly, have the better chance.
