Mental, when I was 6 or 7 we played in old junk yards, and roamed free. Today's helicopter parents are infantalising kids, they are maturing much later now, and it's very sad. I think that's part of the reason for the beware of 'the lure' advice instead of demonising all strangers. To be fair, I can see why a 5 year old kid might get scared of strangers, if all the adults around them say 'don't trust strangers'

Throughout time young boys went to work in the fields with their fathers, learned their trades from their fathers, learned to fight with a sword with their fathers, and if they belonged to a house of note, they were sent away as wards to be educated and taught in the marital arts, to be toughened up. Fail Raised by women only from birth to adulthood = cucks on average, can't learn to be a man from women.
