Where should I sit?

Hello everyone, I know it's a long way off, but I'm thinking about coming to the home game in February against Huddersfield (23/02) with my 10 year old son. We'd be flying over from Poland just to see the game and this time suits us as it will be school holidays and between semesters at the University where I work.

Where would you recommend sitting? I've only ever been to St James once and that was 30 years ago when I was 10. I saw Jim Dobbin (I think that was his name) bang one in from 30 yards to give Grimsby a 1-0 win. It was the end of that long winning run at the start of the season when Keegan was in charge. Will always remember that day! Also seen us play a few times down in Plymouth where I grew up.

I also presume that the Huddersfield game won't be moved for TV reasons. What do you think?

Flights are cheap at the minute and I can get a return ticket from Poland for a bout 30 pound. Would need to book soon though.

Hi mate. If you want a bit of noise try to get in the Gallowgate end.. specifically the strawberry corner.... but if you want a good view of the ground (and out to the coast) then Level 7 of the Milburn Stand is where the family area is and it's a lot cheaper for tickets too as you are quite high up.

With regards the Huddersfield game we can never predict Sky TV but it certainly isn't a 'glamorous' fixture so chances are high that it won't be moved.
 
Find a lovely warm boozer to sit in and watch it as it will be ****ing freezing here then, although you may be used to a spot of cold weather I suspect :-)

If you're insisting on going to the game as it's a special occassion why not push the boat out and hit the platinum club, nice warm comfortable seats and you can nip downstairs at halftime for a nice cold beverage in lovely warm carpeted surroundings!

Level 7 is the cheapest for you and the kid, but not a great atmosphere. Gallowgate end is probably the best.

Where abouts in Poland are you? Been there many times, Warsaw, Radom, Kielce and Tychy.

Dzien dobry, I'm in Wroclaw but spent a year in Katowice which is pretty close to Tychy. My wife's Polish and that's why I'm here. Dziekuje:emoticon-0100-smile

Is that the place with gnomes hidden all around the city? I've noticed some reasonable priced flights from Newcastle. It's on my list of cities to do!

Is your wife called Magda, Monika or Gosia? <laugh>
 
Hello there - kurwa, lol.

If you're getting them on general sale, chances are choices will be limited, I've been in the Leazes end the last few times I've bee, which is a good atmosphere, just make sure you're not too low down or you'll just have a horizontal view of the action.
