Ehab and Duffen definitely know each other, but I think to call them mates - based on what I could glean from chatting to the latter and discussing bits and pieces with others connected - is a stretch. Duffen still has friends in Hull who, he told me, he visits from time to time, but I don't think the Allams are among them. He's done some bits with the Allams and City over the past few years - largely to unravel the financial mess they inherited, but also in trying to find them a buyer - but I still think this is significant. You don't go on a lads day out with someone who's just been messing you about/put the kybosh on a multi-million-pound deal you've got your heart set on.

Ehab is an attention seeking twat who probably posted a piccy of him spending daddies money in order to gain column-inches (yes, I know) as things have all gone a bit quiet. Add in the smug satisfaction that he knows this will get some people all excited by making further assumptions about progress - strategically timed for maximum effect.

Can't argue with much of that, but I can't quite see this sort of (make believe) scenario taking place:

Duffen: Right, we've got a price sorted, the due diligence is fine, your dad seems good with everything. I've been waiting eight years for this moment: Do we have a deal?
Ehab: Yes. Err, actually, there's the centre-circle.
Duffen: Eh?
Ehab: The centre-circle.
Duffen: What about it?
Ehab: I want £15m for it.
Duffen: £15m for a centre-circle?
Ehab: £16m.
Duffen: What's going on?
Ehab: If you want the deal to go through I want £17m for the centre-circle.
Duffen: This is nuts. I mean, I know I've paid £2m for Kamel Ghilas but even I draw the line at paying £17m for a centre-circle.
Ehab: You mean £18m. Do we have a deal, Mr Duffen?
Duffen: Well if that's that's what you're asking, then no. My dreams are crushed. Crushed.
Ehab: Well I'm sorry to hear that. Oh - do you fancy coming on a lads day out with me and a few others racing fast cars?
Duffen: Yes, of course.

I'm not saying that the deal is definitely going ahead, but this picture would hopefully suggest that it's not dead either.

OR there is no Duffen deal but been the petty, vindictive, childish **** that he is Ehab has dragged Duffen along to fan the flames of the rumour.

The sale saga has gone on longer than BREXIT. There may be some similarity of complexity. For one thing the recent suggestion in national press of further HMRC interest in football clubs and players and agents may lead to any purchaser wanting a backstop for getting money back off the seller if anything unexpected comes up in the future regarding tax liability due to changes in interpretation of tax rules for a past tax period.

The picture looks like another distraction from what we all want. 2 weeks old with nothing to do with City. Whats the point? It just keeps people (like us) talking about nothing concrete and stops us villifying the grade A vindictive pair of..........

Well it was boring on here yesterday with no take over made up rumours. Suddenly we are all chatting again, no arguments and all been best of friends. We can get back to that tomorrow

We all know how long it can take buying a home so I’d be surprised if a sale will happen anytime soon? I’d just like a little glimmer of light?

The sale is apparently on track for completion next month.
The instagram post would suggest its Duffens consortium that will be the buyer.
My post wasnt suggesting the picture is of the consortium - of course it isnt!!!
