Paul Gascoigne : Hall of Fame Poem
This canny man from Gateshead wore the Rangers number eight
He made his way from Lazio and became a Light Blue great
He lit up world football , was a legend of the game
Yet the SFA disgraced the Scottish Football Hall of Fame
Rejecting his nomination, they lied through gritted teeth
But it was very plain to see what clearly lay beneath
The excuses that they made were a disgrace and shame
Discrediting the once famous Scottish Football Hall of Fame
But the People love and know you Paul, for you're the People's friend
And the Family of Rangers will stand by you 'til the end
For you graced the field of Ibrox and set our hearts aflame
That's why you're written on the Rangers Hall of Fame
Gazza it is true when you said you were the best
For your talent was sublime and we were truly blest
To see you weave your magic, that's why we can proclaim
There's only one Paul Gascoigne upon our Hall of Fame
So let them stick their Hall of Fame, let them go to hell
For in our hearts the memories will forever dwell
Of the title winning hat-trick when you stamped your name
Upon the only Hall that matters, the Rangers Hall of Fame
So don't be a stranger Gazza, haste ye back always
To your home and haven Ibrox of the bygone days
Where your name is mentioned reverently and with great acclaim
Paul Gascoigne, hero, legend upon the Rangers Hall of Fame
Tear to a glass eye
