Something that in my opinion is far more important than Brexit..... Went out for a meal in Windsor yesterday to celebrate my wedding anniversary and couldn’t help but notice the number of homeless on the streets of what i assume is one of the richest places in the country. Counted at least 12 in the short walk from where we parked, past the castle to the restaurant. To have people living on the streets, in our modern society is a total shame in this country and needs the government, whatever party, to put something in place to stop this from happening........now that truly is an outrage.
That may be the case but it wasn't the main reason as some suggest. It was only one part and I won't knock people for wanting control of their borders And they lost. And you said it 'before the last election'. No election has been announced yet and I am pretty sure the points would be further apart. I know you support Labour but even you would know that Corbyn wouldn't get in.
The Lib Dems have disappeared down their own plugholes. UKIP under Batten looks increasingly like the National Front. Greens are even less relevant than the Lib Dems. So that leaves 2 parties and at the moment, both of them are split badly. A successful Brexit deal might heal some of the Tory wounds. A Corbyn victory at a GE would give him control over the Blairites, but , like you, I don't see it happening. Not just because of Corbyn's extreme views and history, but also because I can't see the Tories making such a colossal pig's ear of preparation for an election, as they did last time. Interesting that the Parliamentary Speaker, Bercow, who has presided over a period where certain MP's have allegedly bullied and sexually abused staff, and has to face bullying and sexual impropriety charges himself, is being kept in his position by the Labour front bench who refuse to consider Tory attempts to oust him. So much for Corbyn's high ideals.
Agree mate it should never happen in a modern society. It's not just here though. Plenty of homeless around the World.
This really shouldn't be a party political issue, but I'm afraid it is. Under the last Labour government, rough sleeping fell by three-quarters, whereas it has risen every year since 2010 and the total now stands 169% higher than when the Tories took over. https://www.independent.co.uk/voice...-blair-government-labour-record-a8490436.html https://www.theguardian.com/society...bers-in-england-rise-for-seventh-year-running As you say, an outrage.
Agree, and no doubt austerity has had it's effect, and money needs to be made available to deal with this issue. The solution isn't always simple. It doesn't necessarily help a homeless person who is living within a homeless community among friends and is used to an independent lifestyle, to be told there is a place at a Council run community house 10 miles up the road which has strict rules including over drink and drugs and where the homeless person doesn't know anyone. Some will take the opportunity and get treatment for addictions, so clearly the facility needs to be provided. Some will move to such a house and leave after a week to go back to their mates on the street
I suspect that the border issue is being exaggerated by the EU and remainers. Would a proper border between the north and south be so terrible? Why would it result in a return to violence as is claimed? We could use technology, which is how things work now I believe. You'll be ok Strolls. I'm pretty sure May will give you want you want.
I've heard of these stories myself and it's something i never considered before i had heard it but it certainly sounds plausible. It's a shame what addiction can do to people.
Absolutely majestic post - Yes, May should stand up to the 27 leaders and shout and scream at the top of her voice that this simply isn't gentlemany conduct - I will you know, I'll scream and scream and scream. The UK will of course still be open for business with absolutely everyone -trade isn't going to stop, British Russians, British Arabs and all the other wealthy "Brits" in London are still going to want their Mercs and Lambos - it's just going to cost them a bit more. Pick up the phone? - Who they going to speak to? - You're all going to be having a decade long leaving party!! EU Negotiators using something as an issue - there you go again, damned bastard Europeans doing their job - it's not fair!!!, FYI that's what negotiators do, they cleverly use their chips at the table. They work out the level of chips beforehand, what to risk and what not to - and play their hand. The Brits have gone through this thought process... have they not? It's a mess - Again, must be the 27 leaders and their people that chose to put the UK in this mess. EU needs UK more than the UK needs the EU? Yeah, read that agian, hopefully sober, repeat it to yourself, and then work out how that plays in your head again. The UK will not be doomed - they will still be trading with everyone - bar who the US tells them not to - it will all just be a little more expensive and take a little more effort. They will have a few less white people in the country and a few more brown ones. The EU and its people will not particularly think any less of the UK and its people, it will not come over for so many jollys if there are extra queues at the airport or if things get even more expensive in London. But the EU needing the UK more? - Read it again Don't need to tell you where I work or with how many countires and at what level - by the way Ellers, quoting old Redders as an acquaintance is not a particularly good thing for your cred - one boring bastardo - no, but I will tell you this - We're bored, we're bored of the ****. Get on with it, you called it, you must have the solutions already prepared in your heads at least. At least you can all soon trot off to the Theatre Royal Haymarket and see Britain in all its former glories - Moi? - Just creaming it off with all British companies that are anxious to renegotiate on old terms - Does it make me a bastard that I play up massivley on the uncertainty and create "BATNAs" that don't even exist to improve terms beyond recognition? - Nah, just makes me good at my job. For impartiality - Strolls, You do realise that the Right and Left extremes eventually meet up and morph as one don't you? Whilst I'm on, let me give you the solution to UK's political "step up potentials" You need 5 consecutive hung parliaments - during this period you'll need 2/3 more reliastic centric parties to form going away from this non- existent tribal system. The UK will then have politicians who are not so empowered, will be looking at long term strategies - i.e next 20-50 years, rather than what is likely to keep them in power for the next short period, whatever the cost. Major issue? - It's all rather boring - you'll have to develop new things to talk about when out with friends. After a time, life becomes too easy and the simplest "difficulty" brings on the thought of suicide. You're likely to revert to a far more kinky open sex attitude to ease the boredom. Don't worry guys - this time next year we'll be Millionaires!!!! Sorry Tram - just couldn't resist.
Danish, Alan Moore has hacked into your account and turned you into a mad genius. Nice one my friend.
Next time I go to the Derngate in Northampton I'll ask him, he pretty much lives in that dam theatre!!
Windsor has been particularly ‘bad’ (for want of a better word) for a while. Guess it’s for the tourist money and the fact the locals have loadsamoney.
I was wondering why there were so many mate, and yeah you could very well be right. But on a deserted Tuesday night, with the wind and rain hammering down there wasnt much footfall for cash.....so sad to see.
Here are your answers. You have Yorkshire in your name does that mean you support Leeds? NO. I support QPR and always have done. My name was not Shepherds Bush previously Are you some plastic northern QPR fan? NO Watford had 'Watford" in his name does that make him a hornet? NO. As above. He changed his name to signify where he now livesGet over fella and start moaning at other posters, (if you can) When they say something offensive and criminally ill-informed like you I will. What was the point of those questions as I dare say you could have probably guessed the answers. Do you see what I've done? I've actually answered questions asked instead of glossing over any challenge to the orthodoxy you believe in by swiftly delivering an insult, mantras and emoticons. Do you think you can do that?
You are probably right. But then they are not the first to do that and it backfired spectacularly for the last person who did that. Step forward Theresa.
