No I sympathise with Sterling that was no kind of foul and he was through. I'd have kicked the ball at the refs head.
As if additional proof of Sky's love affair with certain PL clubs was needed, just look at the ratings on their website..... They could try and make it a little more obvious! And for the record, how many more chances are they going to give Sterling? This is not a witch-hunt - just an objective assessment of a guy who just doesn't seem able to cut it at International level.
"That's because he only scores penalties!!!" - bitter Goons failing to spot they don't even have any players in the England squad
The ESPN pundit made several efforts to single out Dier for lack of mobility. Even went as far as to say that Modric got to a ball ahead of him. Now I've never more for Dier than he is, but there seems to be a creeping anti-Dier narrative in the media while of course not criticising certain other players. I really do think that they don't have an individual opinion among them most of the time!
Well I watched a totally different game to anyone in the media - the praise being heaped on Henderson for running around like a headless chicken (which maybe doing a dis-service to headless chickens) is quite frankly ridiculous, lets be honest no one played very well, the full backs were probably our best players - Dier proved that he can follow instructions and played fhe roll that was asked of him relatively well and thats about it. Spain may well have a field day on Monday so I hope that Winks and Tripps continue to rest up, but I have a feeling that both will play.
The Sky idiots were the same. Desperate to say something positive for their Mouser 'God', the most they could say was that 'he covered every blade of grass tonight'! Well, if that's the only criteria for an international midfielder, then I would have suggested my robot lawn mower! And for what it's worth, IMHO the general media dissing of Dier is directly linked to the promotion of Henderson. Eric hasn't been at it this season for us so far, but thought he had a really steady game last night. Certainly 7-7.5/10 - better than the 4.5-5 that Henderson would have got for running around a lot.
The commentator here said Rashford did everything right, but the keeper made a fantastic save. If that had been Kane, well god knows. Missed as sitter? Should have scored? Out of form?
I dont know what matches are on in the UK, but if you guys get a chance watch Slovakia versus Czech Republic. Classic, excellent match, had everything, even a cheating ex mouser getting away with a handball on the line to stop a goal.
The international break is so boring. Play international football at the end of the season. Don't disrupt it in October. The club season could finish in early May without these breaks.
Germany still haven't figured out Werner can't play alone up top I see. Then again it wouldn't be a problem if the obvious players who could, i.e. Mario Gomez and Sandro Wagner, hadn't retired from international duty due to being 33 or being pissed off that Low left them out of the World Cup squad in spite of being an ever-present in qualifiers respectively...
Once I could forgive but Rashford managed to make the same poor decision TWICE! Your commentator said everything wrong but that's pretty much par for the course now. They seem to think that giving us useless statistics like, so and so has only scored once at this ground after breakfast, substitutes for describing what is happening on the pitch in front of them. Now they have some new ones: Rashford has only missed two chances at this ground. AND England have never lost to Croatia playing in an empty stadium.
I saw a bit of the match, it wasn't played at a tremendous pace. If he gets a hamstring there then he's in trouble.
How totally boring has the international break has become. Is anyone really interested? Who was the bright spark that decided to screw up our Premier League season?.....again!
