Here we are bracing ourselves for the 3rd storm of the winter, Storm Callum. Met Eireann have put out an Orange Status warning from midnight tonight for mostly coastal counties of the Country as along with 130k/mh (80 mph in old money) there is also very high spring tides so there is a high risk of coastal flooding, we're ok as we're a couple of hundred feet above sea level even though we're only around 200 metres from the sea, a lot of Tramore is very low level so there could be some damage to property..... Here's a picture of Tramore promenade during Storm Ophelia last year.... please log in to view this image Ironically at the moment it's the most glorious afternoon with clear skies and pleasantly warm, you wouldn't think that there's a storm on the way.......
I have the day off tomorrow to go on a hill and moorland navigation course on Dartmoor for three days, 60mph winds and lashing rain forecast, really looking forward to the experience. Walked the 23mile Abbots Way on Sunday in glorious sunshine, pesky weather. Still if I get blown all the way to Miami, Michael will blow me back again......in a manner of speaking!
We've been batterered here on the West Coast of Scotland too, some really heavy rainfall leading to severe flooding. Big landslide (2,500 tons) at The Rest and be Thankful on the A83 leading to a 60 mile, 2 ¹/² hour detour - this is the major route out to Argyll We're due to battered tomorrow too with high winds and more rain - thankfully I'm not out working in it this week!
500m from the coast and 400-500ft. above sea level. The wind in the next couple of days is coming straight at me
Certainly 'hang on to your hats' weather. Perhaps the next storm being a 'D' will be Donald as he seems to think all this is fake...
Mother Nature flexing her muscles once more. Maybe she is trying to get rid of the plastic the humans have dumped on this planet

Here on the Gold Coast, we’re getting much rain but nothing too serious as yet although there seems to be a lot of wind and turbulence inside the Didley household. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
Had some light drizzle here, a lovely electric storm to watch over the mountains, but pretty much a sunny constant 26 deg here in Kusadasi, however a major storm predicted the day we fly back so should be an interesting take-off,wife hates flying at best of times !!!
I can only report a glorious cloudless and sunny Indian Summer day. Not even a breeze to be felt. I am now going outside to enjoy what I hope will be a wonderful day. ...plus, it will be like this for the next week!
Portugal experiencing 100 mile winds, don't tell me something isn't a bit amiss here. Extreme weather everywhere you look
Been pissing down non stop since the early hours and not letting up for at least another 8-10 according to the radar reports...
From here it's a 3 hour drive to Lisbon, 200,000 homes without electric and tree's ripped up, visited there last week beautiful city, devastated now
We had a couple of very windy days here in South Oxfordshire, but we've had more rain than I can remember us having for months! It's been raining since Thursday night virtually non stop and it looks like it won't let up till later this afternoon.
How about this for a landing? A TUI jet a Boeing 757 lands at Bristol Airport in a 40 knot cross wind during Storm Callum ...
