arsenal have always been bad at handling contracts. i think its arrogance half the time from the board that back fires on them, ie leaving it until last minute to renegotiate and players telling them to do one or wants silly money or we are arsenal they will resign. i wonder how much bad habits wenger has left behind.
I have long advocated technical directors and control of these issues at the highest levels subject to not buying who you like and shafting your manager. wengers time at arsenal is now looking very similar to rafa at off and Ferguson at Utd. owners who have no clue rely on one man to do all and when he goes the vacuum left behind becomes mistakes after mistake. you need a strong hand but a co-operative hand as technical director and shape the entire clubs structures. arsenal left it all to Wenger and he basically ran it how he liked. they have been appointing people for 2 years to take over... and still the issues.
Not sure you can put Rafa at Liverpool in the same bracket as Fergie and Wenger at Man Utd and Arsenal tbf mate
not really but he did demand total control including the academy so while.he wasn't there that long there was a total abdication of the job imo. tbh.... get ain't doing all that.mich better right now. I've not got faith in our current structure when klopp goes. where is the actual football knowledge at a high level and control of coaching and scouting structures? in any event... we don't let.contracts run down
we learnt the hard way with maca and owen although completely different owners, mangers and staff back then.
https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/foot...tm_medium=social&utm_campaign=mirror_football interesting. luxury sub for city maybe or end up at utd?
Arsenal are unlikely to stop Aaron Ramsey leaving in January because they do not want him to leave for nothing. Destination???.
Not good enough to play for city. He’s decent but not lived up to his potential. Similar to ox though so maybe a change might help him push on a level
Alisson, Ederson, and the rising reputation of Brazilian 'keepers The Brazilian 'keepers will face off when Liverpool take on Man City https://www.skysports.com/football/...nd-the-rising-reputation-of-brazilian-keepers
<cough> Can <cough> on Arsenal think it may have been an over reaction to never letting anyones contract run down leading to a bloated ,expensive but average squad over the second half of Wengers tenure.
I still think klopp though he could keep.him. he could have sold him twice and didn't. he contributed about last season. probably enough to make it worth it
Can was never as good as he or Jimmy thought he was. Flashes of brilliance but very inconsistent, got caught on the ball and dispossessed in dangerous areas too often, and could only run in the direction he was pointed.
no his injury really basically made him totally worthless to us in the run in where we needed him. but you'd have to be a mind reader to see that coming.
He'll have the easy medals now. Prob be called amazing by BBC for playing against a **** utd side in the next couple of weeks.
