Fair point except with us and Hodgson the players didn't down tools. This was his first team selection game one: Cavalieri; Kelly, Skrtel, Kyrgiakos, Agger; Aquilani, Lucas, Spearing; Amoo, N’Gog, Jovanović. It had - I don't know what I'm doing - written all over it and things never looked up from day 1. Which of these players btw do you think downed tools?

It wasn't his fault so much as the owners for appointing him. He'd never managed a 'big' team before and was completely out of his depth. Why that was obvious to everyone except the owners is a mystery.

Hodgson got the job based on a good run in the Europey with Fulham and getting a Manager of the Year Award. He was appointed by owners who knew nothing about "soccer" and didn't have a clue what they were doing. Oh, and the club was in meltdown. He's a decent mid-table manager but no more. He took the attitude that mid-table was LFC's place now and that we should be satisfied with that. Regardless of the players, the fans will never accept that lack of ambition. We might have been witnessing mediocrity, but we would never be satisfied with it. He was a bad fit, that's all.
