You're right there Westy, if it wasn't our Club it would be hilarious, we set out for Gatwick at 2 30 am for 10 days away tomorrow, so at least I can leave this behind but I will probably get on the wifi and see what's happening.
and this gents, is the reason you don't get a lot of respect from me on this forum. The right man for the job or the wrong man for the job, out of his depth or finding his feet - the guy is hard working and dedicated. He put his career and a cosy number on the line to come to take over a club with an inept owner and a lousy squad. Whether or not he succeeds he deserves better than this kind of rubbish. With ' fans ' like this I guess we are getting exactly what we deserve in terms of results at the moment.
I personally couldn't care less what you think or do you have to check with Bet 365 first? its a forum and I think we are all experienced " Town Watchers " who tell it the way we see it, no BS or sugarcoating just straight forward opinions. I may disagree with others opinions and people disagree with mine that's ok by me, as someone famous once said " I may disagree with everything you say but I will defend your right to say it " I cant remember who that was but it seems very appropriate, as for respect from you I can live without it.
Won't be long until you full on start abusing people and threaten to quit like last time. Give it a day until that comes for a second time.
Jesus wept Westy.. I've recently realised you post all the same negative bilge on TWTD as well. I have visions of you trawling though websites, grinning away whilst finding as many negative stats as possible and loving checking updates on BBC sport & seeing us losing, bending all expectations to make sure you can put a negative spin on everything. It's making you look a little desperate (If I'm going to be completely honest) Everyone is entitled to their opinions but your posts (or maybe it's just your writing style) makes you come across as a gleeful adolescent teenager desperate to be proven correct. You've hitched your wagon to tightly to the Anti Hurst agenda you can't seem to see anything else (At All!) There I said it.
This one is not an anti @Westlake33 post, but possibly highlights just one of the issues (I see) with some of our 'supporters' (not aimed at you Westy) It's so easy to watch Premier League and Champions League football and form a decent opinion of a player and a performance.. And then for those Town fans who venture down to Portman Road a few times a year, they're almost desensitized to Championship football and so get easily frustrated that we that we don't play like Liverpool.. Or that Nolan can't tear teams apart like David Silva and Chambers isn't as composed on the ball as Stones etc. We are what we are. A mid table Championship club and a team that is a 'Work in Progress' Clearly in need of a lot of work currently, but we have just appointed the League 1 Manager of the year (they don't give that accolade out willy nilly) and he might not be up to the task, but having been in the job a couple of months it's far too early to start writing him (or any of his signings) off as failures.
If I could award this a double "like" I would TBH I'd put him on "ignore",which I reall don't like anyway, but it would only mean I couldn't participate in the Match Preview threads he starts.
The biggest difference between the Premier League and the Championship is that there is quality in the Championship but it comes in patches. In the Premier League the game will ebb and flow but the majority of sides will perform either defensively or offensively for close to 90 minutes and what wins matches is the skill to unlock the opposition. Wolves were head and tails above the rest of the league last season and they have improved over the summer, Cardiff are just not able to do this and that's why they are going to come straight back down. In the Championship you don't need to unlock a defence, you just generally need to have more spells of pressure than the opposition and there will almost always be a 10 minute spell in either half when nothing much is happening and both sides are struggling to retain possession. At the moment Town are playing well and on the front foot for 10%-20% of a match and to win matches we need to get that figure up to about 40-50% - a good 20 - 30 minute spell in each half. I do read a lot of the comments about performances this season and we were not much better last season when for the most part we made a lot of mistakes and gave the ball away very easily, we just had more confidence (not quality) in possession and we got more bodies into the final third once we were over the half way line. I can't remember a spell this season when we have had the opposition camped in their own box for even a few minutes.
Oh bore off. I want nothing but good for us but right now we’re a shower. If you’re happy to accept this then fair enough. I was very positive under mick for 5.5 years. I’m not under this clown, so to be labelled like the negative brigade have under mick is a little rich I’ve been negative for a month and people are crying. I’ve listened to far too much negative mumbo jumbo for 5.5 years under a good manager.... but accepted other people had that opinion... Seems fine if certain people say certain stuff on here it’s okay - if others dare to do the same.... So is this a forum, or a dictatorship??
As for you, your nose is so far up Yorkies ass. Like a right little double act. I’ve yet to read a single post of yours that’s offered any insight. Your posts are utterly irrelevant. People may not like what I’m saying, however I say it as I see it.
I am happy to accept that we are not playing great, but we are trying something different. If you'd watched us much this season you'd see that we've been a mix of good, average, bad and dreadful... In fairly equal measure, with a healthy dose of misfortune. The way you have been going on it's like it's the last days of Rome. It's tedious and like I said it's all very "Look at Me, Look at Me.." Whereas you haven't added any balance or acknowledged anything positive.. In fact you've been crying about Edun playing for weeks he gets on the pitch and you find something else to whine about.. Hence why you yourself need to "Bore Off" (so to speak) Wow I have no issue. Debate is a good thing and I respect your opinion.. Just not in the tone and sheer repetitiveness of it as I feel we are rehashing things on a regular basis and if I wanted to do that I'd spend more time on TWTD
I have edited slightly. Well, people appear to. I think we’re in trouble. Time will ultimately tell. I would love nothing more than humble pie,and to be proved wrong.
I'm not going to be drawn into a slanging match, but if you feel the need to vent your inner teenager in this manner, fill yer boots!
