I was more disappointed with our lack of ability to keep possesion. Norwich passed from right to left and vice versa with little to no pressure. We got the ball in the full back position and either kicked it high or out of play. Full backs are or seem to be more vital as ball players as they are defenders in the modern game. Baptiste is not a full back and Bidwell is just average at his very best. You move the whole team up the pitch via your full backs, which Norwich did with ease. As for Eze, I didn't see the millwall game, but from what I've heard, he had a stormer behind the striker. Accommodate this player, don't move him to accommodate another! Young lads thrive on confidence, feed him that confidence and have him playing facing the opposition, not his own goal!!

Great post Bob.
My lad pointed that out to me every time Eze had the ball facing his own players.

Great summary col. How's your lad doing with the coaching? It's a tough cookie to crack but if he ever needs any advice pm me mate.

Thanks mate. He's loving it at the moment. Just starting his 2nd year.
I would imagine he would need advice towards the end of his third year when he's looking for options to get into coaching.
I'll keep you posted. Thanks again.

Your lad and my nephew must be on the same course, as he's just started year 2 as well - small(ish) world!

Norwich imo looked a very good new side
SM has no answer to how they played imo
I felt very down hearted again after this match and my faith again has dipped in SM

Interesting point about the following orders. Lumley was barracked (a bit) for not releasing early but I get the impression he's been told not to do that.

He certainly was delaying. I got the impression that Steve wanted to play out. There were several occasions when young Lumley could have fed a CB or FB but just waited too long.

Excellent post and spot on
One question. Do you not think Wells should play up top. His excellent touch and speed of thought brings players in more?
Just re-live the first half v Millwall whenever possible as its the best we've been for a long long time

Yep, I'd be more than happy to have him up top with a three in behind.
