The commentators last night were proper hyping up the heavyweight division, like it's the best it's ever been...

AJ
Wilder
Fury

Are probably the 3 big names at the moment (correct me if I'm wrong) but that's a **** list of fighters, in comparison to previous era's.

Imagine if someone like Mike Tyson was around these days. He'd probably actually kill these guys by accident.

Strange as sport generally gets better with new science and better training facilities etc. Boxing has got worse.

AJ is good but he's not a great fighter, he's just fortunate to not have any decent competition.

Lennox Lewis would deal with anybody in this entire division at a week's notice. The division is in awful shape, I just hope Dubois continues to work hard and keep doing what he's doing because in a few more years he'll be sleeping all this lot.

Wilder is a ****ing joke of a fighter btw, I fully expect Fury to play with him like he's some sort of journeyman.

AJ looks a bit flat footed, but at 17st plus, that’s hardly surprising. Once he found his range and rhythm last night, he demolished a durable and experienced pro. Can’t knock that performance, the big guy continues to learn and improve. Not his fault there aren’t enough decent journeymen heavyweights to learn his trade against.

Fury can’t come back from bloating out to 30st, it’s not possible. Man lost control of his body and his mind, and the ring is not the place to try and get them back.

Fury needed to fight Joshua/Wilder as soon as possible when he came back before everyone realises how finished he is. Take the money from the one big fight and run when everyone realises that sniffing gear every day for a year and ballooning to whale size is not the best thing to do for an elite athlete

Let the hype over Fury grow and you’ll get something close to Evens on Wilder by December.

Been offered to go to it as well which I'm considering. £1500 for 5 nights in MGM, transfers from the airport and the fight ticket. Just need to pay for my flight and the inevitable gambling.

If you don’t mind staying close to but not bang on the strip there are some great deals. I looked at the 27th-3rd and you can get flights and a five star hotel for £700. No idea what a ticket on its own would be but probably makes your £1500 not a bad deal.

Fury is a joke, imo. A real boxer, like Tyson, would knock him into the middle of next year.

As for Joshua, he’d be lucky to last 2 rounds.

I'd wait for the city/venue to get confirmed before booking tickets if I were you.

Yeah I thought it was weird my mate talking about it before the venue is confirmed. It will definitely be in Vegas though. He has used this guy before to go to fights in America so says he is legit, just seems odd that he is offering it so early.

Whole thing will probably cost about 10k though so I dunno if I'll bother

Fury let it slip that it was Vegas when they announced the fight in the ring after his last bout.

I'd rather sew my eyes to my arsecheeks than travel to Vegas to watch that utter ****. Having said that, at least Fury has the nuts to get on the plane.

Yeah I'm not a fan of either but never been to Vegas and seems as good a reason as any to go. Should be a laugh if a few of us go as well. I've heard Hoddle is a God is the man to chat to about Vegas so might have to PM him for some tips.

Vegas is a right laugh, as long as you take it for what it is, an adults playground in the middle of the desert.

They're all sub-20,000 capacity, aren't they? Fury fans would probably fill that on their own, let alone Wilder's.

Wilder isn't that big a draw isn't he? Thought he was fighting infront of 10k or so. Agree that it sounds too small though.
