Syd, if I may make two observations:

1 - As a mod, you are the best I have seen on any forum. Experience and your personality probs make you that. I am not at all surprised that you were headhunted for higher things.

2 - You have the luxury of being retired so you can devote more time than most of us to keeping an eye on things. Anybody who is working probably could not do as effective a job. Therfore may I suggest that we appoint two or even three additional mods. Maybe the vote could be our three nominations from the final list of candidates.

I admin another forum (not related to footy) so I am not in the reckoning as my time is squeezed.

My nominations would be MackemsRule, BruceysBeak, Cest and ChatsNoir

Great idea Danny! There's nothing in the rule book that states we can only have 2 mods is there?.....and I go with your nominees, good choices as long as they are happy to do it?

I'd love to be able to put my name forward but I seem to be starting out on a crusade against he who shall not be named (except by his source) and therefore couldn't be considered as level headed and impartial.

Agree with 56Danny in that we are lucky to have you and that you have time to give. MackemsRule, BruceysBeak, Cest and others are excellent candidates but could they fit this into their life/work? Maybe they can and if so great, but if not a full time role then I can't see anything wrong with a "jobshare" - and it provides a diversity of opinions to bounce thoughts off if an issue comes along?

Before we decide who is going to take over the role - surely we need to know the fee that we will receive for the mest mod on the block, we might do a Liverpool (please don`t worry I won`t use the C word) and get two decent mods for the price of one (even if one might have to sit out for the next few months whilst his hair grows)
