Dr Helen Czerski getting all pokey in sub zero water in BBC Ice and Fire is well worth a watch...cough...for the interesting experiment obviously ....
Jürgen Klopp has confirmed Dejan Lovren is ‘close’ being back in contention for Liverpool after resuming full training at Melwood this week. The defender hasn’t figured for the Reds since returning from World Cup duty with runners-up Croatia due to a pelvis issue. However, Lovren re-joined his teammates in Wednesday’s training sessionand isn’t too far away from being available for first-team selection once again. Klopp told his pre-match press conference at Melwood on Friday: “Dejan is close. He looks really fit; he did a lactate test last week and fitness-wise he is on a really OK level for his situation – rather good than average. “That is good and good work from the fitness department. We will see. He is not in the squad for the weekend of course but we will see how soon we can try to involve him again.” Another man making good progress in his quest to return to full fitness is Adam Lallana. The playmaker has stepped up his recovery programme at Melwood after sustaining a groin strain while on international duty with England. “Adam gets closer and closer,” said Klopp. “He is still doing his rehab work out on the pitch and all that stuff, so he is not too far away from the team for sure.” Liverpool will train at Melwood on Friday afternoon as they finalise preparations for the weekend’s Premier League encounter with Southampton at Anfield. Dominic Solanke is fit to join in the session after picking up a knock while representing the Reds’ U23s last weekend, but Divock Origi is still recovering from knee complaint. Klopp confirmed: “Dom trains today for the first time after his concussion. Divock tried yesterday but still feels it when he is changing the direction and is still aware of it, so we don’t have to make pressure on that. “I think Sunday will maybe be the first session with the team.” Meanwhile, Klopp also responded to the news Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain had reached a milestone in his rehabilitation from a long-term injury this week by passing a ball for the first time since picking up multiple knee ligament damage against AS Roma in April. The midfielder revealed the details of his latest progress while speaking on LFCTV's LFC Later programme. “Ox is in a different situation, but it is so nice to have him around,” the boss said. “I can imagine because I had a long injury in my career, the first month you take it somehow and then you think it’s really boring and not exactly why you wanted to play football. He for sure he had moments like this, but he is such a positive [person]. “We are really, really waiting for him without making pressure on him. We know it will take a long time, but he will always be a very important part of the squad because of the guy he is. I have said it a few times, I knew he was a good footballer when we signed him but I could never have imagined what an outstanding person he is. “He is a big miss for us, but he is most of the time around and is still working on the good atmosphere in and around the team.” .................................................................................. Origi and solanke played u23 game and both are in treatment... so... League cup next week? hmmmm might see one but won't be seeing any of this lot Lovren - call it day 5 preseason - 2-3 weeks away Lallana - who knows. chump Ox - nice lad special mention as a result Origi - knee niggle Solanke - concussion. markovic - being markovic.
dunno the top one. whats she famous for really. I did hear Lamarr was highly intelligent and invented several things. top shout there.
The whole modern world relies on this - I simply don't understand the isolationist mentality of some. Of course it isn't perfect, there are many problems, but none of them will be solved by simply breaking away, imo.
Mythical belief that the individual has any real control of the larger world around them. Can't explain it? destroy it or say God did it. Presented with change? Harken back to the imaginary good old days.... ignoring the fact that there were just as many people saying the same thing at that time. Always makes me laugh too that it's always put forward by men, largely men, who will ask or force obedience from those they promise a return of control to. I was actually reminded of these ideas (probably deliberately lol) on a bbc documentary about Alfred and Arthur and why over the centuries the English and Welsh kept regurgitating various myths about the two ...usually in response to major change....industrialisation etc etc...
some klopp stuff from presser Klopp on Ox: He will always be a very important part of the squad because of the guy he is. We knew he was a good footballer, but could never have imagined what an outstanding person he is. Klopp on Milner: It's not just this season, last year he had most assists in CL. Only in football it sounds like 32 was a massive age. In all other parts of life you are still young, and he is still young. He is a top professional and his body gives him a chance to do so (play). Klopp: James is the best example for them (the squad). He is a very energetic boy and likes to cover big distances. He can play football, and that makes him a pretty valuable player. Klopp: It's not important what we did last year (drew six of 12 games after CL). Nobody is tired at the moment. We will be ready for tomorrow. Klopp: This league doesn't wait for you. If you want to be near the top, you have to win from the first game. Klopp on Ings: "It's good that he cannot play. He's in good shape. I'm sure he would like to show that his time at Liverpool was unlucky. But the rules are he cannot play. We follow his games really closely." #lfc Klopp told #LFC drew 6 of 12 games post-CL last season. "Finally somebody comes with a negative! Tuesday-Saturday should not be a problem. It will not be a problem focus-wise, I am pretty sure. The people make a difference. We must show we can switch between competitions." #LFC Klopp: If we played Tuesday in front of an empty stadium, we had no chance of getting a point. The people make a difference Klopp on Salah. "Of course everybody expects [same as last year]. We don't. What did he get [in first six] last season? Three. And two in six this season? Wow, that's a crisis!"#LFC Klopp on Salah (cont): "He needed time last year, like we all needed time. And he will take time this season as well." #LFC ............ all form echo. you can fin there.. just what i thought interesting.
Tbf, the pic you posted is a bit of an airbrushed glamour model type of thing and that doesn't really do it for me. There are others out there where she looks more natural.
Tbf I prefer that too. Much prefer watching Alice Roberts or Helen Czerski wandering about in their microfleeces and hiking trousers.... but then I like the outdoors type ladies.
