Stroller was talking about intra EU migration. The million who went to Germany were refugees/asylum seekers. Different thing entirely.

Regarding the ‘burden’ that EU migrants put on public services, they don’t.

Granted schools and health services might be under pressure in some areas, but this is a planning and investment issue, not a ‘burden’.

The benefits side looks selective. What about unemployment benefits?

Moved on now Goldie. The Migration Advisory Committee Report today said that there was overall a net economic benefit from EEA migration as well, but not a huge one.

Seems to me the debate should be around the social impact

Moved on because the "facts" weren't quite as factual as you were leading people to believe?

Border checks are down to us, as is keeping track of those that we know to be here. The point that I was making to Ellers was that there's nothing in EU regulations that prevents us making these checks, keeping tabs on EU migrants that we know to be here, and asking them to leave after 3 months if they are not working or otherwise self-sufficient. Being in the EU didn't prevent us controlling our borders properly, being ****ing useless did.

No, I’m satisfied that the economic facts are broadly in line with what I have posted. Moved on because yet again this was moving in to tedious denial counter denial ****. Why bother? Nothing changes, the trenches are dug.

Just joshing.
I know you can't resist when someone takes you on.
Completely agree with you on the entrenched views.

I disagree with that comment Sb. remember I was a remainer for a long time. I then did the research and changed my mind at the last minute. I take on board many differing thoughts on all this. I doubt I would change my mind now but some have on both sides.

We already trade with all the countries that we don’t have treaties with (through the EU) on WTO rules. These rules work, but they are not as good as having trade treaties. That’s why Dr Fox wants trade treaties. We won’t have any trade treaties with anyone come next April.

The 164 countries which are members of the WTO include the 28 members of the EU and the EU itself.

Nice propaganda though.

I would also add that a lot of those 164 countries are worth about 5p. saying that if you took France and Germany out of the EU you would be left with very little as well.
