I've moved on from that a long time ago, first fixtures are unpredictable and the other argument is that there season was already up and running.

They were poor. Mark got it wrong in the first half, and we couldn't put it away in the second....which is nothing new!
They look pretty bad, and will struggle, and that is without Europe hindering them.

The good news is that he learns from his mistakes, something that was sadly lacking from the last guy.
 
Lukaku up front, Everton win that. Regardless of how poor they were - are they really, really were - you'd have expected Lukaku to bury the chances that Tosan and Niasse missed. Digne can't half deliver a ball.

A bit like us with Virgil (and Toby before him), it just illustrates how fortunate they were to have Lukaku. Even playing as poorly as they did today, he'd still have won them the three points.
